Nice! Always love to see some personally engineered redstone contraptions!

If I may offer suggestions:

  • You can increase the depth of the pit and line it with trapdoors so they'll still pathfind in.
  • You can use pressure plates for autonomous activation as suggested by other commenters
  • If you have or can find some slime making the pistons sticky-pistons and having them move solid blocks should make the mechanism more dangerous to the mobs.

Does the head look like it has a red recolor of the Gamecube Logo to anyone else?

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah, that's fair. I don't know how militarized your aestetic is but you could try making snowman flamethrower turrets to keep them away from your base.

ETA: Snowballs are entities, entities can be on fire and transfer fire to things they hit. Snow surrounding a snowman with netherrack and lighting it will let it set enemies hit on fire.

It's been in there quite a while, I always have my ladders missing the bottom-most block so that they can't climb them. You jump onto the ladder and since mobs can't jump they can't follow you.

Pillagers. They add nice variety in being non-creeper always hostile mobs that can exist in daylight.

Hello everyone,

My friends and I would like to play a modded world together now that we've found 'The Essentials' mod which allows us to circumvent our previous issues with multiplayer. However we've had some issues with finding good modpacks. None of us are experts so we've just been trying ones we've found.

We've mostly tried 'Create on a Potato PC Ultimate' and 'Create: Arcane Engineering'. Create on a Potato PC was/is great but we have a minor crashing issue. Arcane Engineering integrates the mod so much it makes trying to primarily work with one frustrating. My friends have also tried Create Chronicals and found it to just be altogether too much.

What we're looking for is a pack with Create (addons desired but not needed) and an in-depth magic mod like Botania or Ars Magica.

Any suggestions?

If you're going to rebuild this place with realistic infrastructure I'd love to see a before/after of this disasterpiece.

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What's the purpose of this building?

It actually looks pretty decent so if you have a significant internal space you may just want to leave it open or give it a flat glass roof for a skylight.

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 3 points 2 months ago

Dogs, I just like having backup when I'm out on an adventure.

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 2 points 4 months ago

To add to this: Yes, it does feel absolutely awful to lose the world when you die in hardcore.

However, I also find the investment into the admittedly temporary and fragile world to be really rewarding. Doing things has a greater feeling of accomplishment, even if they're the mundane actions of just staying alive in survival.

Still reeed pretty hard when on my longest-running hardcore I died to piglins while bed-mining because I forgot to bring a backup gold helmet.

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 2 points 4 months ago

I get that I'm a minority in this case as well but; to me they're also legitimately beautiful. They were my introduction to Brutalism and it has since become my favorite architectural style... actually took me a while to realize what made them so aesthetically great to me. It's that you can see the planning that went into them. It's not just the one building but a whole 'landscape' of practical design.

I wish I had the opportunity to live in one but to the best of my knowledge they were never built in the country I live in.

[–] Halasham@dormi.zone 2 points 6 months ago

No, just for several reasons people care less when it is done to animals.

Hello,

Still pretty new to Lemmy. Came from the Reddit blackout. The instance my account is with(?) seems to have a rule or setting that prevents us from seeing downvotes.

Is there a way to change this for myself?

Be me: Raven, Pilot: Arlo, Frame: EVEREST

Be not me: Cypher, Pilot: Rena, Frame: EVEREST; Ghost, Pilot: Undisclosed, Frame: EVEREST; DM

Session opens on the stolen MBL-HM3 light freighter, having stolen it to escape from a planet

Ghost preoccupies themselves with maintaining their equipment

Cypher is poking at their NHP... it's not poking back, yet

Raven gets on the ship intercom: "Hey, if we're going to be working together we'll need an organization... I can set it up but we'll need a name."

Que short discussion of names before Ghost suggests 'Hammers', DM suggests adding a prefix to it and so we become the Crimson Hammers Mercenary company

We decide to take a job defending a moon mining base from some small-time raiders.

We arrive on site and get to work fortifying to the best of our ability... they will be arriving soon.

"Incoming." Ghost states, "Two West, Two East" as they come up on sensors.

"Got this one." Raven calls boosting into the fray and igniting his plasma sword and slashing into the lightly armored mech.

The slashed enemy mech begins to walk for cover provoking Overwatch from Raven... his plasma sword burns out right before contact. It then pops Raven for 6 damage...

"Guys.... help!" Raven calls over their coms asking for assistance.

Ghost responds by deploying a number of turret drones.

Cypher catches a shot to the chassis as the enemy that fired moves into cover.

Cypher pops their Core Power and surges into combat to help Raven. Launching their Nexus Swarm... it misses. They try to followup with a Lock-On and still fail.

The first enemy miss of the battle occurs as a mech waddles into a crater.

The fourth enemy takes a shot damaging the building we're protecting... and second enemy miss of the session.

Next round the enemy goes first! Enemy mech on the far side of the building gets shot... actually doing damage.

Raven goes first throwing a Hex Charge as a grenade! It chips both mechs and before the dust settles he's where they blast came from slashing both mechs with the plasma sword via Executioner and failing to finish off the second with a bad shotgun damage roll.

The second enemy manages to do the first point of Structure damage against Raven's mech!

Ghost's turn! They steady their aim and annihilate their first target with their super-heavy sniper rifle.

No enemy left alive to take their turn so it's Cypher's turn. They surge across the battlefield to try to Lock-On a new target... success! They then consume it to sic their drones on it... and miss again.

Raven's turn first at next round and he slashes the second mech in half.

Ghost catches a bullet... these guys are persistent.

Cypher nails them in return with the AMR and then their RPG for massive damage!

Ghost surges into range to finish them off with their Thermal Rifle.

Combat ended Ghost rips the slagged mech open... the pilot is alive!

"I got one." Ghost says

"How bad is he?" Cypher replies

He's alive, we hand him to the miners to guard while we deal with upcoming waves.

We have a few turns to repair our mechs before the next wave, we use the time to return to defensive positions and patch our mechs.

Now in a much better position than before we're ready to deal with the next wave...

Ghost goes first... their Cyclone Rifle slays another target.

Hearing the explosion, "Cypher, think you can break their comms?" Raven comments

"I can try." Cypher replies as the enemy's turn begins.

They try to fire a Mortar... and forget that we're in micro-gravity sending it off out of the battlefield. They then waddle away.

Cypher's turn. They Scan & Invade the enemy mech preventing them from approaching seeing they've got good weapons.

The invaded enemy waddles their way closer... but can't do much to any of us in that state.

Raven pops the slowed enemy with his shotgun then backs away as a turret gives a followup-pop

End of round and DM tells us something is happening... and whatever it was it missed

Ghost takes first turn and moves to a hidden position

The knife-guy moves up to flanking with Cypher! It forces a hull-save from a ram then boosts toward Ghost.

Cypher misses with the AMR then sics her drones on the target cutting into them.

Raven leaps into action landing on the melee-mech and vertically bisecting it with the plasma blade.

Ghost stabilizes and reloads.

The one remaining enemy fires their arching weapon... and batters Cypher and the building.

Cypher boosts back into range. They Lock-On and then Invade to activate their Hacker talent... putting the target into the Danger Zone!

Raven boosts into range of the artillery mech... and misses with a shotgun.

Seeing mechs charging at it the artillery panic-fires and misses.

Cypher's turn! She nails it with the Nexus and with the turrets help the mech goes boom.

Wave 2 defeated

We're told fast moving units, likely fliers, are incoming by the miners operating the outpost

Ghost goes first and takes aim with the Cyclone Pulse Rifle... crit! One dead mech.

Undeterred the first action of the enemy is to charge into battle! Reaching Raven with a boost. It wiffs it's one attack.

Raven slashes the mech in his face... provoking a reaction to be counter-meleed via chainaxe, doing just enough his shotgun followup misses.

The turrets finish off mr. chainaxe

The artillery mech that came in with these guys launches his payload hitting the building, Ghost, Cypher, a turret, and the building. Nailing them for 11 damage.

Cypher retaliates with her AMR chipping it before beginning to spread out, the artillery is getting dangerous.

It panic fires as it's hit and the shell goes wide.

Ghost repairs and reloads.

Raven boosts into melee with the artillery mech... and misses.

Cypher surges up and pokes it then ducks for cover.

It's turn! It misses.

Raven stabs through it's core with the plasma blade on Overcharge then spends their full-action to stabilize.

Cypher reloads.

End of round and the fliers arrive!

Raven boosts at the first flier... and misses.

The flier tries to escape Raven provoking Overwatch... and it does a barrel roll! It flies over the building and bombs the structure.

Cypher takes a Barrage to try and down the other flier... it also barrel-rolls but she nearly downs it on the second shot.

Ghost takes a shot... and misses with the Thermal Rifle, they then drop smoke for soft-cover.

The wounded bomber spins 'round and does a bombing run on Cypher.

Ghost takes aim with their Cyclone Rifle... and ~~misses~~ Reliable saves the action and they down the flier, they drop another smoke to stay hidden.

Through the smoke the flier manages to connect with Ghost.

Raven goes next and overcharges for a second boost... getting in range of the wounded flier only to miss their slice.

Cypher takes their shot with the Nexus and shreds the second flier.

"Anything else on long-range sensors?" Raven asks the outpost.

"Nope, all-clear." the outpost responds.

"Is the building OK?" Raven asks again

"There were a few explosions... something collapsed. I think we can fix it." they reply.

With combat over we extract from our mechs.

We ask to see the prisoner...

Raven asks where their ship is.

He doesn't want to answer.

Raven hits him, Ghost threatens to do worse.

They still don't crack.

"Can we get a room? Don't need to damage the employer's peace of mind." Raven asks.

They oblige and we get a room.

We decide not to RP out the "interrogation" and leave it as rolls

Near-crit He breaks as part of the slow-walk to the interrogation room.

He explains that they've made their base in the derelict of an ancient planet-cracker mining ship.

"Is what you've sent all the kinds of things you have?" Raven asks.

"I don't know everybody, I didn't know all those guys." he replies.

"What's your comms code?" Raven asks, looking to be able to listen in on enemy comms.

He hands us his comm unit.

Raven hands it to Cypher, "Figure out what code it's on and update our mechs with it."

She has it done after a few moments of looking at it.

"'Bout how big is your operation?" Raven asks

"Think we've got... 30 mechs and a few hundred people." he replies.

With that the interrogation is over.

We let the miners know we're done with him, they can do what they wish but we don't want him wondering off to warn his buddies.

We call the session their making mental note to see if we can gain allies for the raid on their base

Be me: ~~Erin, Human Fighter~~ Zaquar, Catfolk Swashbuckler

Be not me: Lilly, Ratfolk Druid; Elshe, Kobold Psion; Doot, Lizardfolk Shifter; DM

Resuming the game mid battle it's Elshe's turn!

Elshe fires a bolt of cold and tries to take cover... there's not much cover to be found but she's trying.

Lilly casts Stabilize on Erin, saving him from bleedout.

Erin... is still KO'd

Doot moves up to the railing and waits for a sensible boarding opportunity.

Enemy sailor's turn! It hails arrows from the enemy ship at ours!

The crew of our ship have finished reeling in the caught ship and actually get turns! They take shots with their own bows- BOOM and swivel guns!

Elshe buffs herself with Inertial Armor

Lilly holds action to intercept boarders.

Doot grabs a boarding plank and drives it into place.

The enemy sailors continue their bow barrage.

Our crew return fire with arrows and shot.

A few of our guys begin to board the ship!

Elshe peeks up from over their cover and fires another beam taking them down.

Lilly's turn, Fang charges across the boarding plank to score a kill!

Doot is dumped into the drink by an enemy action and stunned...

Our pirates continue to engage the enemy.

The few remaining sailors surrender.

Lilly heals Erin... he's still unconscious.

Lilly wakes him up once he's to positive HP.

"Don't do that again, please." Lilly says to Erin.

"Yeah, don't think I will be. Going to do something safer." Erin.

Doot is yoinked onto the ship by unexplained means.

Swap to Zaqaur

Zaqaur tries to kick down the door to the opposing ship's captains quarters. He then tries to simply pick the lock... and still fails.

Doot makes his way over and tries to open the door... One solid kick and the door flies off it's hinges.

"Why thank you, matey." Zaqaur comments with the door kicked in then heads inside.

Zaqaur goes to step inside... and immediately flops onto the deck, asleep. Runic traps.

...checking the specifics of the trap it hits Doot too and they save!

Doot gives Zaquar a few good kicks waking them up.

"Yarr! Rar... thank you. Damn magic traps." Zaquar.

"You there, Kobold! You're magic." he continues.

Doot points to Lilly, "She's magic too."

"Alright then, are there more traps?" Zaquar asks

"I don't have Detect Magic prepared." Lilly replies.

Elshe carefully makes her way across hearing the back-and-forth 'bout needing magic.

Elshe scans with Detect Magic and finds there's magic below deck but nothing on this deck.

"Go mark it out, I'll be assesin' what's in the cabin." Zaquar states.

Elshe makes her way to the stairs down, "Lilly, is Fang done eating?"

"He's done." she replies, and Elshe asks for him as a bodyguard on the lower decks

Zaquar finds a logbook searching the captain's quarters... it says they're storing dangerous magic items.

He hands the book to Doot, "Go keep the new Kobold from blowing themself up."

Meanwhile Elshe has found the general location of the magic items and is beginning to read their auras...

Elshe is carefully marking out what's what and writing an inventory without disturbing anything as Doot arrives to explain the danger.

With the logbook in hand and the partial inventory with their own paper Elshe is making good progress assessing what's what and asks Doot to relay this is going on to the captain of our ship.

Lilly manages to find the keys when asking Zaquar if he's found them... she takes them back to the hold for Elshe to pop some chests.

Opening the first chest they find an Orb, emanating an aura of Illusion!

They grab the Orb and get a second Will Save... it's slimy.

Elshe sits down to identify the orb... it's an orb of annoying illusions. It makes everything you do near it just a little more unpleasant.

Moving onto the next chest they unlock it and carefully peer into the chest... there's a wand!

"Yarr, there not be explosions yet... ye be alive?" Zaquar asks coming down the stairs.

Elshe confirms and explains which chests are dangerous.

The wand has a single charge... of True Resurrection! Too bad the Captain probably won't let us keep this.

There's one last non-dangerous aura... more illusion. Elshe opens the chest and it's a wineglass.

Intrigued she picks it up and it fills with wine... their favorite wine, even if they don't know what that is.

They identify it as being an illusion of wine, always providing the taste of the holders preferred kind of wine.

Elshe and Lilly sip some wine... Elshe not explaining it's an illusion.

"Not too much, any sailor still drunk by sunrise is dunked in the ocean." Zaquar warns.

Elshe asks Zaquar to make sure nobody fucks with the dangerous chests as she takes the wand and warning of the dangerous chests to the Captain.

The captain is having tea with the opposing captain in her quarters.

The Captain is pleased to have the wand delivered and word of the other items.

With that the day-to-day work of living on a ship resumes.

With that we call the session.

Be me: Kol-Jha, Koldemar Sorcerer/Dragon-Desciple

Be not me: DM; Alex, Human Fighter/Warpriest; Velius, Sylph Druid; Caw, Tengu Rogue; Silit, Kobold Rogue;

First segment of log is recap due to in-game logging being lost to technical issue

Session opens with the party buying potions and healing.

We go back to the farm with Daddy Dearest and camp outside as we do...

We're assaulted by Giant Mosquitos after some abysmal watch checks

They get a surprise round and nearly kill Alex outright.

We fight them off for a few rounds only just barely failing to keep Alex alive but also almost losing Silit right after reviving her last round.

Daddy Dearest was woken with the commotion and lets us start sleeping inside seeing that the short time the wards were down danger has crept into his homestead.

With a nights rest we Reincarnate Alex and they become a Vanara.

DD also cures Silit and Caw of Malaria contracted from the Mosquitos and the stat damage from the blood draining.

End first segment

DD offers to heal Alex's Negative Levels from the Reincarnate Spell but we'll have to pay for it... we can only just barely afford it but we can't have our front-liner be down a few levels.

"Well we've got a necromancer to kill, time to get going before they can repair too much of their defenses." Kol comments at the dawn of the third day.

Our returned-to-life monkey leads the way as they have the highest survival for navigating back to the ruins...

DM calls for Perception as we walk.

Kol: 25, Alex: 26, Velius: 15, Silit: 25, Caw: 33

We hear the sound of thunder from the direction of the farm... something has provoked Daddy Dearest.

As the sun sets we prepare to make camp...

Silit takes first watch... and all goes well.

Alex takes second watch... don't screw it up this time

It goes well, and Caw takes third watch. Which also goes uneventfully.

Time for the survival checks. Alex continues to lead the way toward the ruins... Velius also rolls just to be sure and they're positive it's the same direction.

New day new Perception checks...

Silit: 26, Kol: 10, Velius: 18, Caw: 27, Alex: 20

Silit & Caw hear the faintest notes of song but can't get a direction from it.

... we come upon a patch of dense flowers, Velius knows this indicates the presence of Fey.

DM calls for a Will Save...

Silit immediately flops and is snoring.

We decide to vacate the area, carrying Silit, before more mischief can be enacted against us.

We make camp... Silit taking first watch Nat1, the fey magic must've lingered a little

But it still goes uneventfully and Alex takes the next watch... the rolls are bad but the watch is still uneventful.

Rolls are still bad with Caw taking the final watch... his player gets a private message which isn't shared.

As the day breaks we find our camp surrounded by wildflowers... the trickster is following us.

Caw picks a flower and the DM calls for a few rolls...

Perceptions: Velius: 32, Caw: 33, Silit: 30, Kol: 24, Alex: 16

There's a tiny basket of berries.

Velius tries to identify what these are... they look a lot like the product of the Goodberry spell.

We each try one and its filling... as much so as a full, proper, breakfast.

With that done we make our way forward in the morning of the third day... the ruins should be coming up soon enough.

We get an encounter!

Perception checks: Kol: 24, Velius: 24, Silit: 19, Alex: 14, Caw: 16

Giant Elk in the distance... what are those?

Velius wild-shapes into an Elk, he's substantially smaller than them.

Kol asks our Elk what they are.

Velius knows they're Megaloceros but can't tell the party about it.

Velius scoops Silit onto her back.

We decide not to fuck with the megafauna and continue on our way.

We make camp for one last time at the entrance to the dungeon and with that call the session.

Previous Session: https://dormi.zone/post/158413

Be me: Erin, Human Fighter

Be not me: Lilly, Ratfolk Druid; Elshe, Kobold Psion; Doot, Lizardfolk Shifter; DM

Boarding the ship for our voyage to 'civilization' riding with the pirates...

We marvel for a moment at the diversity of the crew of the pirate ship for a moment...

Erin moves to the bow and takes a look out over the ocean as we're making away from the island.

There's something big under the water... but it's not coming this way.

Doot considers their flag and tries to recall anything 'bout this band of pirates... he knows little beyond they occasionally make camp on the island.

Elshe pesters one of the Catfolk 'bout if they have an aversion to water. They explain that they don't and some cats actually like water.

Before too long a Wyvarian in a officer's garb gathers the party and shows us to where we will be staying and explain that we'll be given jobs shortly.

After we're settled with out Hammocks we're asked what we're good at... so that we can be given jobs we can do.

Lily explains that she's got OK perception and that she's got a little magic... and her raptor companion.

Doot... can fish & swim, he's stealthy, and strong.

Erin's turn. He explains that he's good with knives, maps, and knows a little 'bout breaking and repairing machines.

Elshe explains that she studies engineering & history... and that she's got a little magic.

The quartermaster explains that our mage will be thrown overboard if they set anything on fire.

Sailing goes uneventfully for a week or two before we hear a call from the crow's nest!

Merchant vessel sighted, lightly armed!

For the first time in our journey the Captain comes out from their cabin: They're a Silver Dragon... disguised as a female Elf.

Elshe notices it's a Brig, and that it looks like it has a few hidden cannon-ports.

Erin prepares to swing from the rigging onto the enemy ship while Doot prepares to dive in to climb their hull.

As we approach the ship makes a surprisingly sharp turn to broadside ours!

Our ship manages to close the distance even getting in a broadside of our own before we're in range to use ranged weapons and spells.

As hooks are thrown and the ship begins to be reeled in Erin swings from a rope to land impressively onto the enemy ship... now surrounded by the enemy.

On their turn they manage to knock Erin out... but he's not dead yet.

Session called on Cliffhanger because RL issues

Be me: Rikter, Tech

Be not me: DM; Armataige, Netrunner; Leprechaun, Medic

Have a few days of downtime while our medic heals from his injuries

Rikter decides he's going to make some Cyberware for himself in the meantime.

Armataige buys more ammo but mostly chills the whole time...

Once we're ready for another job rather than just sit around for one we ask our Fixer about somebody... head of a Booster Gang.

The Fixer knows somebody who might have that info... but they want a favor in exchange.

They want us to silence an out-of-town gang that's been making trouble for them.

We use one of our hijacked drones to get an aerial view of the target location...

Nondescript ruins of a town, they've got a few vehicles clustered around a bar. A few motorcycles clustered around a different building.

We jokingly consider stealing a Militech tank to drop on the bar then using the tank to mop up survivors before trying to find more sensible solutions

We get the idea that maybe we could drop a canister of napalm... one problem with that: where we gettin' the diesel? Turns out for all the dystopian corpo shit the diesel & gasoline are hard to come by now.

With that plan out the window we ask Armataige's cousin's if we can buy some vehicle stuff from them... they only hike the price a little 'cause family.

We supe up our car and prepare to head out under the basic idea of 'steal their cars and then shoot up the place'.

We get into the ruins of the town and put the car in neutral then have our resident strong man push it the rest of the way to the bar...

DM calls for stealth checks from the party... 16.... 16... 4.

As we approach the bar a pair of gangers wobble on out and make their way to out car to ask the fuck we're doing in their territory...

We give them a BS story 'bout the car being out of gas.

They buy it... but the story makes us seem vulnerable. They say they've got a sniper aimed at Leprechaun, our 'bodyguard', and tell us to get out of the car.

The entire party looks at the indicated window and none of us see a sniper

Rikter steps out of the car drawing his pistol.

Initiative

Leprechaun, Armataige, Goons, Rikter

"WHERE THE FUCK'S YOUR SNIPER?!" Leprechaun bellows as he charges one of them colliding his massive steel fists with one of the goons.

They get a crit applying a critical injury! Dismembered Leg

Armataige tries to finish off the guy... and misses at point-blank

The guy dies. The other guy takes his shot at Rikter... it hits but bounces off his Subdermal Armor.

Rikter just laughs off the gunshot and steps up to slash into the next goon with his claws.

Top of the round and Leprechaun asks if any more are coming from the bar because gunshots...

Leprechaun charges toward the bar and takes position concealed from reinforcements.

Armataige takes position to have cover against reinforcements

The remaining streetganger draws a knife and it skitters off Rikter's skin just as ineffectually as the bullets.

Reinforcements show up and spot Armataige & Leprechaun... but they're in vulnerable positions.

They manage a shot at Armataige, piercing her armor! The other one fires wildly and takes out part of the neon sign above Leprechaun.

Rikter steps back from melee now that it's not just a massacre and starts gunning down the ganger.

Leprechaun charges the reinforcements grabbing the two of them and colliding their skulls... not quite lethally though.

Armataige's turn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EXC_rjs7tg

The goons! One misses Rikter and shatters one of our car-windows.

The reinforcements take shots at Leprechaun... and he's dodging bullets.

Rikter retaliates putting one of the streetgangers into critical condition with another dismembered leg.

Leprechaun double-crits the two of them! Rupturing an eye on each ganger! DM rules the damage is so massive they just die.

Armataige holds action to fire on reinforcements...

No reinforcements. The guy Rikter shot the leg off of just dies.

Rikter gets back in the car, starts it, and pulls it into their parking lot like nothing's wrong.

Meanwhile Leprechaun walks through the door... no he didn't open it and step through the doorway, he walks through the door like it wasn't there.

He immediately is under-fire! He shrugs off a shotgun blast at point blank.

Leprechaun's turn and he stealths as the guy that shot him scurried around a corner.

Rikter & Armataige start running to back up their heavy metal medic... it'll be a moment as they weren't right behind him.

We can hear movement but can't see 'round corners

Leprechaun's turn! He peeks around the corner to try and spot the enemy... and fails. He tosses a smoke-grenade into the room.

Rikter manages to cross the parking lot to be on the map

Armataige makes their way inside...

Still can't see what the enemy is up to

Leprechaun finds the security room! It's empty.

He continues moving... making it to the bar to stealth.

Rikter has fully caught up to the rest of the party under cover from the smoke.

Armataige finds her way to the security room! But doesn't have an action left to try and find an access point.

Enemies continue to do things we don't see.

Leprechaun is looking around trying to find them...

He sees two guys on the other side of the building and two more on catwalks above. The guys above look like they're prepared to drop the lighting rig above the smoke.

Rikter manages to make his way to having a shot against them and opens fire!

Armataige's turn and she's looking for net access... and there is none.

The enemy open fire on Rikter! He's buffeted with bullets one of them even scoring a crit, breaking one of Rikter's ribs

Leprechaun's turn! He sneaks onto the runway and slashes against one of them with his Helicopter Blade

Rikter flips the table for cover then takes his shots putting one of the gangers into critical conditions.

Armataige grapple-hands up onto the catwalks! She manages to wiff in best range increment with her rifle.

The guys on the catwalk drop the lights ineffectually and draw weapons.

One of the enemies kill over while another opens fire on Leprechaun! More dodging bullets from our giant the gunman flees into the smoke.

Leprechaun chases him into the smoke...

Rikter takes shots at the guys on the catwalk, only a single hit for moderate damage.

Armataige takes aim and nails one for serious damage, putting them into critical condition.

He dies as his ally misses firing at Rikter's cover.

Leprechaun in wondering around in his own smokescreen trying to find the fleeing enemy...

Rikter moves up taking shots at the last guy on the catwalk before taking cover behind another flipped table.

Armataige puts another bullet in the same target... and he's still alive! He drops his gun and pulls a grenade! He leaps off the catwalk with it... dieing in the process but putting the 'nade right next to Rikter.

Boom Rikter is just a bit more hurt... but he's still in good enough condition to fight.

Leprechaun is coming for the last guy... CYBERPSYCHO! and he's killed the last ganger!

"Is that all of them?" Rikter calls looking around seeing all the dead gangers.

"Yeah, looks like it... there were gunshots from the front door." - Armataige replies.

Rikter makes his way to the door...

Armataige drops from the catwalk to do the same.

Cyberpsycho opens his arm relieving his pop-up grenade launcher! He fires a 'nade nailing Leprechaun for serious damage!

Leprechauns turn! He grabs the Cyberpsycho! "Psycho." Leprechaun states calmly.

Rikter continues moving up and reloads with AP ammo.

Armataige takes position and fires on the psycho as Leprechaun is holding him still.

The Psycho opens his mouth revealing a massive tendril slashing at Leprechaun for even more serious damage and a critical injury! Dismembered Hand

Leprechaun's turn and he's now seriously injured! He throws down the Psycho in position for each of us to take our shots.

Rikter takes aim and fires! Just like the Gangers couldn't pierce Rikters subdermal Rikter can't pierce the Psychos.

Armataige! She goes full-auto... and can't control it.

The Cyberpsycho! He gets up and claws into Leprechaun for minor damage.

Leprechaun manages to miss the first hit but connects with the second punch.

Rikter is still struggling with the Psycho's heavy armor.

Armataige punches through his armor with single-fire shot.

The Psycho continues clawing at Leprechaun... missing by a hair then connecting with the second. Another critical injury: Broken Leg

Leprechaun is in critical condition! He doesn't kill-over this round. He keeps throwing haymakers cracking this guys armor just a little more.

Rikter actually manages to hit him... for minimal damage but the AP rounds are working.

Armataige puts another shot into him... but he's still standing.

CyberPsychos turn! He's got a pain editor but he's still wiffed both hits.

Leprechaun's turn! He still hasn't died. Another two Haymakers connect putting him into critical condition and giving him his first critical injury!

Rikter continues pumping bullets into him applying more critical injuries!

Armataige manages to amputate both hands with a single bullet!

Cyberpsycho's turn... he succumbs to his injuries!

Leprechaun passes his death save... and stabilizes himself!

We're still close enough to the city to access their net... Rikter checks this guy verses NCPD wanted files. He's very wanted.

This guys chock fulla cyberware though... we won't want to give all that free chrome to the NCPD so Rikter asks his underworld contacts if anybody could put a body in cold-storage for us... gotta wait till our medic can open him up.

Rikter knows a guy who's not only willing to freeze the body but also sneak it past the boarder check.

"Was this guy somebody we had to kill for the job?" Armataige

"No, but NCPD wants him, 4k eddies. But he's also full of chrome... called a guy to put him on ice until Leprechaun can open him up." Rikter

We check the other building... the Cyberpsycho hit that one first. They'll be cleaning up the gangers in here with a sponge.

We make our way back and bring the three cars the psycho hadn't destroyed.

Be me: Zoahar, Cathay Khajiit

Be not me: DM; Daro'Fayna, Suthay-Raht Khajiit; Shahree, Saxhleel; Dar-Jee, Saxhleel;

Opening the scene onto the Lake we've spent the last few days traveling to... finding an open Oblivion Gate next to it

We stand before an Oblivion Gate... little opposition until we were right at it.

Zoahar almost steps in before Shahree asks if we brought food.

"I haven't, can't you eat Daedra?" - Zoahar

We might be able to... they wouldn't poof on their own plane.

However rather than try it we decide to have Shahree teleport back and buy provisions for us.

A large figure steps through the portal as our mage is away buying provisions...

Initiative!

Daedra, Dar, Zoahar, Feyna

The Daedra wiffs their attack and then Zoahar catches the blade at the last possible moment before it cut into him.

Dar bolts into combat at wrenches the Daedra's blade from their hands.

Zoahar tries to followthrough with a claw swipe and it's blocked.

Feyna steals the Daedra's sword and takes aim with her new crossbow, nailing it in the helmet!

The Daedra is freshly without his sword... he turns to the gate and shouts in Daedric calling for reinforcements before disengaging from melee to try to recover his sword... failing miserably then on the second attempt yoinking it from her.

Caitiff burst from the portal into the melee!

Dar deftly dodges the first strike and the second.

Zoahar counter-strikes the first attack against him and dodging the second

Dar's turn and he wiffs stealing their mace and similarly with a followup strike... burning stamina Dar succeeds in grabbing the mace and wrenches it from the Caitiff's hands.

Zoahar steps back from the Caitiffs to protect his sister throwing a POWA-Attack at the big guy.

He throws stamina into the defense and just manages to protect himself.

Feyna fails to steal the sword then backs off to continue nailing the big guy with bolts

The big guy gets countered trying to strike Zoahar then manages to catch him with the blade as he flubs the dodge against the followup.

The Caits! One charges each of our big-guys.

The first one just barely fails to push Dar through the portal

The Cait charging Zoahar manages to hit their Unlucky Number! He catches a backhand across the face planting them on their ass with their mace laying beside them.

Dar's turn and he leans into the grapple taking control and crushing his new victim's throat.

Zoahar goes for another attack against the big guy... it's blocked but it leaves him so open for the subsequent volley of bolts.

Feyna's turn and it's pincushion time for the big guy! First bolt lands and so does the second defeating the big guy.

Caitiffs flub their grapple v Dar and provoke AoO's from Zoahar getting up. The Caitiff actually manages to get a good smack in against Zoahar.

Dar crushes the life out of the first Caitiff and then surges into melee with the second.

Held in place Zoahar takes the opportunity as a punching bag taking the last Daedra down.

The bodies are still here... the gate amalgamating the planes. In fact it looks like the big guy has stabilized!

Shahree pops back onto the field and asks what happened

"This one," Zoahar grabs the big guy, "came through the portal and called for backup when he realized he was gonna get his ass handed to him."

"Looks like they didn't call for enough." Shahree says.

"Yeah, what do you think Dar, need four more to make it fair?" - Zoahar

"Yeah." - Dar agrees.

Shahree begins distributing the rations and healing the injuries.

Shahree identifies it as a Dremora Kynmarcher

Zoahar tries to stride through the portal again before being stopped by Shahree wanting to do an experiment...

She grabs a helmet from one of the Dremora and yeets it past the radius of the portal... it goes poof.

Experiment concluded and fresh with the knowledge that we can't take looted armor far from the portal we stride through the portal...

A plane of flames and lava is revealed to us...

"Fairly typical landscape, hard to tell where exactly we are... one of the nastier domains." Shahree comments.

Zoahar asks if one of those nasty ones is cold... thinking of Coldharbor.

Shahree explains it's not necessarily cold, more just devoid of pleasantness.

We see a platform not too far from where we are with a floating cuboid artifact

Shahree comments that it's a pity it's not smaller, she'd love to bring it back.

Zoahar replies that dependent on what it's made of we might be able to pull that off.

There's a bridge leading to the platform... with two ogre-like daedra approaching us over.

Zoahar leans over to Dar "Didn't your people kick theirs asses centuries ago? Try scaring them."

Dar takes a few steps forward and announces that we're the spearhead of an invasion.

These things are dumb... one of them is just looking at him like he's a square circle and the other is muttering a word over and over in daedric.

Shahree steps forward to clarify in a language they might actually speak, Daedric.

They're Ogrim, as she knows, and she's aware of their lacking mental powers.

Shahree understands the brighter one is just saying 'lizard, lizard, lizard'

Aww, they're so dumb they don't know this is Black Marsh Crisis 2: Electric Boogaloo

Initiative

Shahree, Zoahar, Dar, Feyna, Ogrim

Shahree goes first warning us of how dangerous they can be in combat before casting a spell... Frenzy!

Checking what Frenzy does it's a 'WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!' moment

Accidental buff cast, we're in danger!

Zoahar fires his Arbalest and it hits... the Ogrim barely even flinches.

Zoahar pops one of his potions and steps next to Dar for their Teamwork feature.

Dar checks his pockets, yep, he's got pocket sand!. Holding an action he readies to try to blind the great beast with it.

Feyna steps up and begins unloading with her repeating crossbow.

The Ogrim charge us! As they do we see the beasts healing expel one of the crossbow bolts.

Dar succeed in pocket-sanding the eyes of the first one as it approaches... but that doesn't deter the all-out-attack from the beast.

Critical Hit against Dar. Doesn't kill him outright but definitely hurt.

The second one tries to hit Zoahar... and it's first attack is countered, nicking it for some HP. The second heavy blow comes down and Zoahar just barely dodges.

Shahree throws Horror at the non-Frenzied one and it goes through! It flops over losing a turn.

Zoahar seizes upon the opportunity and rips the downed Ogrim's throat out before it can regain consciousness...

Dar's turn! He rips into the angy one with his battleaxe.

Feyna's turn! The bolt-rain continues as she's emptying her special repeating crossbow into the beast.

Big Angy tries to hammer Dar... and manages an Unlucky Number! Burning Stamina he tries again... only to wiff again.

Shahree casts Paralyze at Big Angy... success!

This gives Zoahar his second Coup de Gras of the combat slaying the beast.

DM calls for Observe... Feyna passes.

"That one's still breathing!" Feyna exclaims.

"How?! I ripped out it's throat!" Zoahar replies.

Shahree climbs up onto it and begins cutting trying to remove it's heart.... success!

Now that it's not breathing again Zoahar suggests we roll it off the bridge into the lava below.

We begin rolling but it's slow going verses regenerating enemies to get them off the bridge...

Meanwhile Sharee carves the heart out of the second Ogrim.

We push the second one off then call the session.

Be me: Kin, Kitsune Summer; Arallas, Kin’s Eidolon

Be not me: Moon Song, Ponykind Rogue; Hiss’r, Drakeling Psion; Reshka, Wyvarian Cleric; Lethidicus “Lev”, Human Cavelier; Serica, Griffon(Lev’s Mount); DM

In town we find a trap... our Rogue is caught with the launched spears.

She exclaims about need for a healer in the party... cue Reshka.

She appears from an unexpected angle and offers to help.

In the process of talking with the new character we find Lev's player has as firm a grasp of the concept of a figure of speech as Drax the Destroyer

The Wyvarian, Reshka casts their spell healing Moon.

With Moon healed we introduce ourselves and Kin explains what they've been up too... and thinking about it after stating it aloud adds "I swear we're not evil, please believe we're not evil."

Reshka's a divine caster and as such simply checks that with Detect Alignment.

With that taken care of we we set out after a night's rest and it turns out Reshka has some great buffs! She casts a few spells with hours-long duration on our Rogue to keep her alive this time.

Continuing through the winding halls we bypass a few traps without hassle, in part due to the persistent buffs

We come up to a pedestal... Moon investigates and it seems like there is a mechanism here but it is jammed.

She unjams it and the sound of grinding and cracking emanates from around us as the machine breaks things...

She's blasted with a wild-magic effect: At the next solstice she will either become a god or die.

When's the next solstice?

Connection fuzzes out b/c technical issues on my part

when the signal comes back in Moon is struck by a trap!

It's a Harm spell-trap... and is quickly countered by our new Cleric casting Heal.

Moving along the traps are slowing us down but doing little more... then we come to our first door of the session.

The door is jammed... Hiss'r casts Grease on the door... and trying harder Moon manages to get it open... only for Moon and the door to slide on in.

Moon manages to get off the door-sled before she slides too far off into danger and finds herself in the ruins of a castle...

The party follows her in beginning to look around...

We're confronted by a number of large creatures... they look undead.

Those of us with Knowledge(Religion) roll... and Moon & Hiss'r roll well enough to ask questions.

We ask our questions and come to the conclusion that this is gonna hurt.

Initiative!

Moon, Kin, Hiss'r, Reshka, Hooded Figure, Wraith-Things, Lev

Moon takes aim with her bow and does no damage in spite of the hit.

Kin casts Wall of Stone to imprison the Hooded Figure.

Hiss'r buffs themself with maximum strength Inertial Armor.

Reshka buffs Moon with Greater Magic Weapon.

The Hooded Figure does things... he blasts out a side of the wall and walks out.

One of the wraiths runs up to Moon and grabs her!

A second one charges Lev aiming for Serika... Lev's deft maneuvering allows him to divert the hit

Lev charges managing to catch an AoO but skewers the Wraith for great damage.

Moon's turn! She pops out of the grapple with Jaunter's Hop then nails one of the wraiths with a crit!

Kin moves to buff Moon with Greater Invisibility... and fizzles.

Hiss'r flies off the wall she was perched on and takes position for a psionic blast letting it off with Ice.

Reshka buffs herself with Greater Magic Weapon.

The Hooded Figure steps up to Hiss'r... slashing them with a fiery blade

Moon notices they're healing

Moon is walloped for significant damage by the wraiths.

Lev issues a challenge to the Hooded Figure and unleashed a POWERFUL charge... which misses :(

Moon defeats one of the wraiths.

Kin succeeds in casting Greater Invisibility on Moon.

Arallas batters at it with his natural attacks.

Hiss'r tries to fade into the shadows and escape... succeeding allowing her to refocus from Cold to Sonic.

Reshka steps up and crit-hits the remaining Wraith with her hammer! BONK!

The hooded figure holds their action...

The Wraith goes to rip into Moon

The Hooded Figure blasts out flames afflicting the party.

Lev delays their turn.

Moon stops their bleeding.

Kin tries Hold Monster... and forgets that it can't work on Undead

Hiss'r tries to blast him with Sonic... and fizzle, damn spell-resist.

Lev charged skewering the Hooded Figure with a powerful charging stab

Reshka casts Heal and carries it in to slap the Hooded Figure as we know it's undead... rolling a nat1 wiffing the Touch-Attack.

The figure lets off another fire burst.

Moon moves into flanking and stabs the Hooded figure

Kin heals Arallas.

Hiss'r flubs an energy bolt.

Lev charges again... overrunning the Hooded Figure in addition to his lancing, slaying the creature!

Reshka heals Arallas tapping him with the Heal spell they've been holding from failing to slap the figure with it.

The undead haven't dusted yet...

Hiss'r asks if anyone has Holy Water... no.

Maybe a Positive Pulse will do? Reshka tries...

It dusts the wraiths but not the Hooded Figure.

We resolve to let Reshka create Holy Water and just stab the figure periodically to prevent it from reawakening.

Holy Water does it, dusting the figure, and leaving it's magic armor for Hiss'r to decipher.

Reshka realizes the armor is... malevolent and will resurrect the Figure so long as it continues to exist.

Reshka explains that it must be Disintegrated and Hiss'r has just the thing.

"I hate undead." - Hiss'r

"Smol dragon fren, you heal with Negative Energy right?" - Reshka

"Your point?" - Hiss'r

"I can cast Inflict." - Reshka

"I can heal on my own." - Hiss'r

We rest for a few hours in the secure room before moving on.

Be me: Kol-Jha, Koldemar Sorcerer/Dragon-Desciple

Be not me: DM; Alex, Human Fighter/Warpriest; Velius, Sylph Druid; Caw, Tengu Rogue; Silit, Kobold Rogue;

Picking up with the death of Man Berg making our way back to the farm

We return to our campsite and rest... nothing messes with us having just fought a large devil.

We continue out trek back to the farm with Velius leading the way following our trail backwards.

As we travel we try to decypher a magic item we've found, a Belt...

None of us can figure it out. Alex equips the belt to see what it might do... no apparent effect.

Is it cursed? Can they take it off?

They can, it's not cursed. They put it back on in case it requires attunement.

We travel onward until the sun begins to set and it's time to make camp again.

Velius turns themself into a moss monster for the night to be less conspicuous.

Kol takes first watch... everything goes well and then Kol wakes Alex for their watch.

Alex crits their Perception and nearly crit-fails their luck roll...

Flap, flap, flap... a winged creature is approaching

Alex wakes the casters to tell them that...

A large raven is approaching. Alex tries to shoe it off.

The bird tilts it's head and approaches closer to our whip-master.

Alex cracks their whip to try and scare the bird off... it doesn't work

With that the bird retreats into the darkness.

Awkward pause

DM calls for Perception

Alex rolls 26... and nothing.

DM calls for another Perception

Alex rolls 28... and still nothing.

Then the bird calls from behind her... revealing Caw the Tengu Rogue.

The ensuing commotion wakes everyone.

Caw says he'll do that again as Kol is getting up.

"You will do no such thing." - Kol states glaring at Caw.

Caw tells us that we're not good at hiding, that Velius is better at it gesturing to the Moss Monster.

"Have you considered that we're not trying to hide?" - Kol pointedly asks.

Caw draws a metal spike from their cloak and hands it to Alex

Kol readies an action to use his Breath Weapon if this turns into something hostile.

Nothing happens...

Alex asks what this was suppose to accomplish.

Velius seconds the inquiry asking if this is to set up a tent... and who this Tengu is.

Caw comments that it's to hide them.

From Kol's perspective a large tent appears around the rest of the party.

Kol touches the fabric wall and passes the save to disbelieve the illusion.

He steps through and Caw asks what it looks like.

Kol replies that it looks like a tent, more conspicuous than what we were doing.

Caw withdraws the spike and replaces it as Alex returns the mallet to them.

They step out of the illusion and instruct Alex to do so as well to show them the illusion is now a hillock obscuring the camp.

Alex asks Caw what he's doing out here. Caw replies that they were curious about what a group of people out in the wilderness were doing not-hiding.

With that Alex apologized for waking everyone and suggests we go back to sleep.

Caw shakes his head admonishing Alex for being too trusting, telling them that it's another weakness.

The rest of the watch goes uneventfully leading into Velius' watch.

Day breaks.

Can we reach the farm this session?

Alex asks Caw their name and they caw like a crow...

Alex replies that it's a nice name.

"I'm not sure I can pronounce that, can we call you Caw?" - Kol asks.

Caw asks where we're going.

Kol replies that we're going to a farm nearby.

Caw asks if it fits a short description and we confirm.

They tell us that it's less than a days walk away.

We pack up and almost forget to bring the spike with us. Velius notices and grabs it.

Velius turns it over in their hands trying to figure it out.

Caw approaches and asks if they're curious about the spike.

Velius confirms they are and asks what it is.

Caw explains that it is a Spike of Safe Passage.

We reach the farm without further harassment.

Kol leads the way approaching the front door and knocking...

Daddy Dearest opens the door and inquires why we have a few strangers and not the full group he saw previously... and where is his son.

Kol explains that the thing sabotaging his wards was a problem and asks if they may come in to explain.

Daddy Dearest asks again much more threateningly about where his Son is.

Kol solemnly removes the corps from the bag explaining the creature that's broken his wards is responsible.

Daddy Dearest takes the corpse as Mommy Dearest weeps. Daddy takes the corpse upstairs and after a short time cold begins to emanate from upstairs

Daddy comes back down and states that he will be holding us responsible.

Kol states that he understands and is willing to pay for a caster to return his son to life.

Daddy Dearest accepts that proposition and says that he will be able to travel tomorrow.

Kol asks if they would be willing to ask the Cleric to prepare additional castings as we have dead of our own (that we'd be paying for the revives for).

He agrees and we take Silit's corpse to the cold room, Levi's bedroom converted into a freezer.

DD then asks Kol to send in Velius as he heads out to set up camp with the party.

Velius goes in and is interrogated about the circumstances of Levi's death and as to why the woman wasn't brought back.

Velius explains that Levi's death couldn't be helped as it was an immediate and unpredictable stroke of fate and that the body of Vira was incinerated in a subsequent fight.

DD steps out after the interrogation to apologize to Kol and tell them to prepare to depart.

Kol says that it's understandable and that they will be ready.

We camp outside since the family doesn't exactly want us in view given what's happened.

First watch... and something dangerous is already happening.

As we're camping in the dark of the night it suddenly becomes bright outside... brighter than high noon as an angelic figure appears before us to give a warning to Velius before vanishing through a portal.

Well ominous warnings from powerful extraplanar forces aside the night passes uneventfully and it's time to make our way to the city with Daddy Dearest.

Velius isn't sleeping at least for the rest of the week after that and covers the rest of the shifts.

Second shift Velius hears the ruckus of beating wings as many many creatures fly overhead...

Velius wakes Kol

"What... what... what? Did you piss off another angel?" - Kol

Velius points out the creatures.

Kol looks up "They're bats. They're migrating. It's bad migration season.... aren't you the druid?"

Kol goes back to bed.

Velius takes third watch and can't shake the feeling they're being watched...

It can safely be assumed the Angel is watching her.

Right at the crack of dawn Daddy Dearest is up at the crack of dawn

They tell us to grab Silit's body and they prepare a ritual to teleport us to a city.

Kol begins taking Cold damage holding the deeply cold Silit during the ritual.

During the ritual Velius asks if Kol is OK, he wards her off until the ritual completes.

He then passes off the Silit-sickle once they're teleported and tries to warm himself up.

Velius is stung by the cold... she has to pass her back quickly but casts Protection From Energy on him as he holds our frozen Rogue.

Meanwhile DD is already halfway down the block toward the clerics

We quickly make our way behind him in the unfamiliar city.

Daddy Dearest is seen immediately while the party must wait for a time before a priest sees us.

They inquire as to our purpose here.

Kol explains that they want their friend returned to life erroneously stating an unnecessarily strong magic.

The priest explains that a lesser magic will suffice when it's explained she's only been dead a few days.

With that cleared up Kol asks if they would be able to remove the negative levels associated with the magic as well and the priest confirms.

They're lead into a room with an alter and told a higher priest will be arriving to handle the transaction and casting.

The higher priest presents Kol with a scroll and reading it the scroll is a bill for the services.

Kol acknowledges and with confirmation that it was to be paid in advance he sorts 8.5k gold into a donation box and with that the priest begins the casting...

The first spell returning our Kobold Rogue to life, and two subsequent spells removing lasting ill-effect from her.

Now that we're in a city we decide to sort our collected items and price check them. We split up the items and/or their value and ready ourselves to make our way back to that infernal dungeon.

Be me: Ishmael, Damphir Barbarian

Be not me: DM; Chus, Lizardfolk Necromancer; Aanshe, Koldemar Vitalist; Zero, Ratfolk Psion;

Getting back into it after a little longer than we'd like...

We decide that we will in fact take the creature to the Vampire's estate to see 'bout working with the creature...

Knocking on the door we get the attention of a servant and explain that we've got a creature and wanted to see if the head of the estate would allow us to use the facilities.

After a short wait the Vampire grants us an audience to inquire why we've brought a Dracolisk to his property.

Aanshe forwards that we are interested in selling it. Ishmael chimes in that if he's not interested in buying it we're considering reanimating it... and would want his facilities to ensure nothing too unfortunate happens.

The vampire is interested in buying but states that they don't have access to their full wealth.

They propose that instead of an upfront payment that they'd give us 30% of any profit they made off of it's pieces or things made from it's pieces.

Aanshe chimes in that it's close to an acceptable deal, perhaps a minor favor as well and it would be worthwhile.

We consider the offer among ourselves and agree that the terms are fair to sell to the vampire. They summon a squad of servants to assist us in unloading it from the cart.

With the Dracolisk unloaded we look at the other job postings...

A bone stealing creature,

A Chimera,

& a Hydra.

Zero rolls nat-20 on Knowledge(Dungeoneering) and knows the first thing is a Bone Sucker.

Ishmael is interested in hunting the Bonesucker and the rest of the party decides they might as well.

The Nightmare Wagon rides out of town to the vicinity of the Bonesucker's location...

We come upon what appears to be a guard outpost on the road... it's deathly quiet.

Zero is the first out of the cart and pitter-patters about looking for the guard that should be in there...

Aanshe steps off the wagon and helps investigate as it continues to be far too quiet.

Looks like they left in a great hurry... Ishmael starts to look for tracks so we can see where they went.

We unhook the dire wolves and put them on cart-guarding duty as we leave on foot after the tracks of the guards...

The tracks aren't that old... whatever happened happened at most yesterday.

Chus wants to do something scouting using rats... Zero burns another nat-20 on Perception. There's nothing dead or alive around here.

We find a boneless deer decaying along the path... large puncture wound in it's chest.

We press onward and find one of the guards... also sans bones and very dead. He's even still wearing his chainmail.

Chus finally finds a rodent and slays it... reanimating it with fast and relentless to creature a scout for us.

Not too far from the first guard we find a pair of corpses, two of the first guys coworkers.

The trail of corpses continues leading us closer to the beast.

The Bonesucker bursts from cover into a Surprise Round!

It grapples Zero and squeezes them tight!

It then crits Ishmael! Cracking his hand and damaging his Dex. It also grapples him as well!

Help!

Ishmael rages, issues his Challenge, and chomps on the creature ripping some Con damage from the beast.

Aanshe 5ft steps away from the beast and rips some HP from it!

Zero fails their concentration to cast Freedom of Movement.

Chus casts Bad Touch slapping the beast for decent damage.

The beast constricts Zero ripping bones from our mousy ally.

It batters Ishmael with it's tentacles ripping more stats from the Damphir

Ishmael fails to break free... flailing about ineffectually.

Zero casts Freedom of Movement... and fizzles again.

Chus... manages to trip on a root as he casts his Bad Touch. Stunning himself.

The beast rips more bones from Zero & Ishmael before grabbing Aanshe as well.

Ishmael flails about ineffectually...

Aanshe flails about ineffectually...

Zero flails about ineffectually...

Chus is still stunned.

The monster rips more HP and stats from 3/4ths of the party.

Ishmael continues to flail...

Aanshe hits it with Steal Health!

Zero bounces a rock harmlessly off of it.

Chus is still stunned.

It rips more stats from most of us...

Ishmael pulls himself closer and chomps into a juicy spot of the beast!

It wiggles and writhes before flopping onto the ground, dead.

Aanshe begins restoring the stat damage eventually running themselves out of Psi points, passing out from exhaustion

Time to drag this thing home...

With that we make our way back to town and call the session.

Previous Session: https://www.reddit.com/r/DnDGreentext/comments/13zzx4v/faulty_reportinghomelands/

Be me: Alan, Riolu

Be not me: DM; Lena, Alolan Vulpix; Eve, Eevee

we wake up in a grassy field

Alan wakes up mumbling about what happened last night... he notices his paw-hands... he looks down seeing his Riolu body and screams.

Meanwhile Eve is frolicking about looking for elemental stones...

Lena is looking surprised as well wondering how she got from the beach to here.

Eve looks over to the two of us and comes to investigate.

Alan isn't taking his transformation well but after a short while asks where he is.

Eve replies telling us that we're in a field just out of town.

"What town?" - Alan

"Greatoak." - Eve replies.

There's a little bit of talk about the town including how some pokemon like to mess with non-flying types under the tree it's named after.

Alan decides to play along with this... whatever is going on and offers to help find stones if the Eevee will show us back to town after.

Arriving at a dungeon Eve comments on not thinking one was so close... which prompts questions about dungeons and a short explanation.

We decide to head in and look about for one of the special stones our Eevee is after.

"So who are you too?" - Eve

"My name is Alan." - Alan

"My name's Eve... I mean Lena." - Lena

"No, you're Lena, I'M Eve." - Eve

"Nice to meet you two." -Eve

With that we press onward!

We encounter a group, somebodies from the guild.

They ask why Eve is out here and she explains that she's looking for stones.

Alan chimes in "I'm lost... I figured following somebody who probably knows where they are is better than wondering about on my own."

Lena hums an affirmative to Alan's summary.

The guild members tell us it can be dangerous in here but they're not going to stop us so long as we promise to be out before dark so they don't get set to get us anyway.

Eve comments about guild people trying to push normal pokemon around... and that they were likely only Trainees.

"Wait they're only trainees?" Alan asks

Lena chimes in about them seeming to be concerned for our safety and Eve comments that they're probably just trying to keep the special stones to themselves.

"Well we'll just have to find them first." Alan states.

We find our way to a pictogram map etched into a wall.

We take note of the directions then backtrack to the first room to try and follow the map to, presumably, the treasure.

Winding through the dungeon we come upon a group of starter pokemon, a Squirtal, Charmander, & Bulbasaur

"Excuse me, red-guy, your tail's on fire." - Alan

They don't look amused... in fact they look aggressive!

"Hi, are you guys another team from the guild?" - Eve

"No? Who're you, are you trying to take our food?" - the starter squad.

"No, I've got food back in town." - Eve

"They've got food, get 'em!" - one of the starters.

It's a fight!

Eve acts first giving Alan a helping hand as it looks like as confused as he is he gets it's time to fight.

Alan goes for a Quick Attack slapping the Bulbasaur for a point of damage!

"Whoa... how'd I do that?" - Alan

"That was quick!" - Eve comments

Lena throws ice shards battering the Bulbasaur further.

Eve then follows up with Baby Doll Eyes debuffing the battered Bulbasaur.

Lena makes it snow whittling down their health further.

Alan flubs Foresight.

Eve runs up for a Sand Attack... and wiffs.

Charmander uses ember at Alan.

Alan manages to dodge and is momentarily unsettled by something spitting fire at him.

Squirtle uses water gun, getting Eve wet.

Bulbasaur uses Leech Seed... and misses.

Eve uses Helping Hands buffing Lena as she asks her to make it snow again.

Alan goes in for another Quick Attack... and gets clashed v Squirtle

Lena fails to make it snow... how do you not roll even one 4 or greater with 6d6?

Alan manages Foresight keeping Squirtle in his sights.

Eve tackles Bulbasaur taking them down... or not.

Charmander uses Ember again, and flubs it.

Squirtle flails about ineffectually.

Bulbasaur is looking rough as they try to Vine Whip...

Eve goes for the Pocket Sand again... and misses.

Top of the round and Eve can't help but pour their success into Helping Hand

Alan gets Squirtle with a followup Quick Attack, "I'm getting used to this!"

Lena succeeds in making it snow! She freezes the three of them out of the fight.

The Squirtle was wearing some slick looking shades... they're Alan's shades now.

Eve finds useful things with the other two, a heal seed & apple.

"Oh my gosh you guys are so cool!" Lena

"Yeah... yeah I am cool!" Alan

"Ow... it hit me. How could it hit me, I'm cute!" Eve

Moving on to the next room... it's a pile of food!

~~"I wouldn't touch that if I were you." Eve~~

~~"It's a trap!" Alan~~

~~"Things can be trapped?" Lena~~

Dm clarifies we didn't see the trap, retcon commentary.

"Anyone got a bag?" Eve

"Nope, only thing I've got is these shades." Alan says, referring to his loot.

Alan steps forward to try and take something from the food pile

Yep; It's a trap!

Alan just barely evades the trap as the net surges up...

Eve asks if there's anything valuable in it as Alan spins the net... nothing special.

Alan climbs up and severs the rope so we can use the net as a bag.

Moving on with all out loot we find our way to a large room!

There're two more bags in here... actual bags not bags of net.

Significant store of food in each!

Eve is disappointed there's not a special stone but given how much we've looted comments that she might be able to buy a stone in town.

Lena looks around for a second pictograph map but there is none.

We find the other team and they ask if we're OK. We confirm we are.

They suggest we might want to sign up for the Guild ourselves.

As we enter town one of the Murcrow that harass people tries to drop something on Alan.

He manages to catch the pebble and return-to-sender. Seeing the pebble come right back at them the Murcrows decide to bother another group... for now.

Now in the town Lena and Alan make their way to the tree where the guild hall is to see what all the buzz is about... Eve joins us after not finding anything worthwhile in the shops.

The secretary is a Dartrix and asks what our business is here.

Eve speaks up first, "Apparently, we want to join the guild. What's it cost?"

They comment that it doesn't cost anything and they'll swap Alan's net-bag for a proper bag.

They give us the rundown of the rules and perks for being in the guild.

They include that we're to get back before night and Eve asks what happens.

The secretary explains that the dungeons begin to change and that makes it much more likely to get lost, so they want us back before dark to mitigate that.

We're told we have access to the Unwanted Items box and the Storage Box in addition to the other perks.

Decide to call it here and pick up another time
