Perhaps not, and far be it from me to defend electoral politics, being an anarchocommunist, but voting isn't necessarily a negative thing. If it's your only political action then you're playing directly into the hands of those in power, but voting green, or voting for actually progressive candidates within the democratic party can have the effect of moving the Overton window and creating conversation. Think about how much more popular things like universal healthcare are because of Bernie. While Bernie may not be as far left as I am, and while it's questionable if he would actually do, or be able to do, the things he wants (or claims to want, if we're going full jade), being on the ballot, garnering national attention has had a palpable impact on US politics. The democratic party literally had to call off the primaries in 2020 for fear the socialist who was effectively running the country during the early days of a pandemic might actually do something aboit healthcare and get elected. Since then they've had to push a "but trump!" Narrative to scare anyone else from even running.
Yeah, politicians suck nasty ass, but expressing a view, a show of numbers, that you prefer one style to the other can and does have an impact. It just shouldn't be the only thing we do, that's what they want us to do. Mutual aid, direct action, and spend 1 day to vote.

No joke, it's why I switched to French press. I've been a renter my whole life, and with moving a lot from cheap(est available) housing to cheap housing over and over, ya gonna get roaches. Sometimes they're easily dealt with, sometimes it's an ongoing problem and you'll never be rid of them until you move. Rice and flour and sugar can be kept in cannisters, most things can be kept safe from roaches. But the coffee maker? Fucking thing is mecca to roaches. But a French press, water heated with the kettle? That can be washed beforehand every single time, and be guaranteed to be roach free.
Switched when we had them bad, and never looked back. Even when there aren't roaches, because I love the taste of the coffee now, but more importantly, it gives me peace of mind.
Oh yeah, gotta keep it dolphin-with-a-brazilian smooth. The trick is to skip the shaving, waxing and Nair style stuff. Just use a Zippo and burn the hairs off. Baby smooth in no time.

Okay, after reading the comments I have determined that this is a magic pocket dimension, not a sci-fi pocket dimension. That's important. Sci-fi pocket dimension gas too many restrictions, but OP has been kind enough to gift us a magic pocket dimension. If I pop in on a flight, I don't fall to my death when I leave.
So, I set it up as a space for living in tight quarters. Like an RV, I guess. I make sure it has some exercise equipment, and I give it to my mom to use. She's disabled, and can't move a lot under normal conditions, and for reasons I won't go into, also can't do aqua therapy anymore. Low g exercise could help her, and we could slowly increase the gravity. Eventually, she could be healthy enough for surgeries that could get her to a better standard of life.
Book cheap flights, cruises, et cetera. Teleport into the room, and back out at the end. Travel the world. If possible, teleport my mom in whenever somewhere is not wheelchair accessible, and then back out once we've passed that point.
Make money to support the travel lifestyle by being a magician, or smuggler. Whenever possible use the pocket dimension to help people escape bad situations. Teleport in someone while in my car, drive to safety, teleport out. They're coming out relative to the vehicle, not the vehicle's position. Excellent for helping refugees, domestic violence victims, et cetera.
I was on an animorph forum for years past the age those books were aimed at, and some of my best friends were made there. That book series shaped me a lot, and it absolutely went as hell sometimes. Marco, man, whoo... The shit Marco went through.

Couple of small issues, but overall I do actually agree with you here.
It currently is our primary season. We just don't get to have primaries, because the democratic party has decided we don't deserve a choice, because somehow Biden is the only person on the planet able to defeat the devil... Somehow... The time to find progressive candidates is, according to the DNC checks notes never. Yeah. Never.
We're not allowed a primary because it could potentially weaken Biden in the general. A stronger candidate would be bad. That's the logic.
Secondly, as far as third party voting goes, if you're in a red or blue state, it literally doesn't count. The electoral college system prevents any protest vote from actually being considered. The only time it could sway anything is in a swing state, where it is unlikely to actually matter except in very close races. If you're in a swing state, you have, IMHO, a moral obligation to vote for the democratic candidate, because while they may suck, they suck less than literal fascists. Otherwise, if you're in a solid blue or red state, vote away however you wish, and use that to help push a narrative.
