In fairness I haven't played any of these spin off games as they didn't interest me, but it seems like they keep trying to make other games using the Minecraft name but they just aren't working as Minecraft is only really popular for the actual main game, if I wanted to play a strategy game I'd play an actual one not a Minecraft one

They need to essentially become minetest where everything is a mod of the base engine, and have all these spin offs as paid mods. They have already proven that microtransactions work for them and this would probably be more successful. This would also be much better than the dumb shit that has gone on for so long with like 2-3 different unofficial modding API or platforms existing at any point in time, with tons of incompatibility between all the mods you want to use together.

The spin off games are fun and popular with the kids around my 8 year old brother, which is who they’re intended for.

NY main criticism as an observer is that they don't seem to use anything except for the Minecraft aesthetic, as if that is the key to what made Minecraft popular. You'd think these games would have some building aspect to them.
