I dont know why but since i read the Expanse books this song drives me to tears every time.

I would have never known that this song from Firefly was a whole genre of music called Filk. I don't believe I've ever heard anything else similar from other shows that I have seen.

It's a strange genre but it gets it's own track at Dragoncon.

I don't know a lot of them, mostly just a set of Star Trek ones I heard on Doctor Demento decades ago. But recently I have enjoyed Aurelio Voltaire's "USS Make Shit Up".
