This sounds positive, pointless pissing matches serve no one. I'm sure it'll be a bumpy road but it would be cool to live in a less hostile world.

I admit, the panda thing really surprised me. About as much as when Xi started rhetorically distancing himself a little more from Putin earlier this year.
I'm very warily happy about this all, I very much like the sound of live-and-let-live. We'll see what happens in the future though.
I wonder if Putin's failure to take Ukraine (first quickly, then at all) has resulted in some bigger plans being changed or abandoned.
It's probably more realpolitik on the part of Xi. He has big problems at home, and probably doesn't want to multiply his problems.
I was so fucking sad to see the end of panda diplomacy, so it was amazing news to hear Xi renewed it after his visit
