Diamant is a large-group favourite of ours, 6-8 players is a hoot. Teaching it takes 2 minutes.
Each players personality shows real quick, either risk averse or keen gamblers.

Camel Up is always the FIRST game guests play at my house. It's real easy to learn, and the randomness prevents experienced players from dominating the noobs. It's my go-to gateway game!
