as someone who has noticed far too many articles mentioning police having killed people who look like me and my family members, this is what us black folks like to see.

Actively doing something to PROTECT black Americans? Well, first time for everything! :)

I kid, but seriously... it's about time!

So we want to try to make AI do something that no human can agree on the right way to handle these things? Guess the pendulum will swing wherever it goes and we’ll try to pin it somewhere.

Protecting workers? Now you’ve gone TOO FAR!

Vital they get out ahead of this, it’s already caused needless pain and loss…

I just don’t know what that solution looks like. Is it code review by 3rd party? Or is there statistical analysis done to try and identify any biases?

Simply enabling people to bring civil cases as a vector for reparation and cessation means people get hurt first and it likely won’t be just a few people either. Especially since court cases are not cheap especially against and big corp or something like that.

I’m still excited about the future of AI but this bill is definitely a step in the right direction.
