Elon's brain: I'm sure nobody took a screenshot.

Everyone knows that once you delete something from the internet it's gone forever.

Especially Beyonce, Barbara Streisand, and a few others

So a Tesla shareholder is going to fire him at some point or what?

[–] MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca 30 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Tesla stock price is like 95% expectations of massive future growth created by the super amazing genius of Elon. If Tesla becomes just a basic car company it will be destroyed.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Of the company is overpriced like that, is it actually helpful to the company or just the shareholders?

[–] MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 weeks ago

It's helpful to both as long as the stock stays high.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 3 weeks ago

That's not how it works though.

The shareholders know the stock is massively overvalued but that's not useful to them unless they sell now and if they sell now the stock will crash. They know this bubble can't last because they know their global market share is in the toilet and artificially bigging up the stock won't help with that.

Be interesting if that’s what it took.

Likely there was a risk for a defamation lawsuit which had a slight risk of a prison sentence? Or Elon finally realised that pissing off Trump more will not help his businesses in the USA.

Defamation isn't criminal, so usually just financial, and even then it can be hard to take money sometimes. See Alex Jones 1.5B defamation loss and how much he's not complying.

At his level of wealth, nothing is criminal, only financial.

[–] Robust_Mirror@aussie.zone 9 points 3 weeks ago

You can't sue for defamation if it's true.

I was waiting for that to be mentioned.

Board of Directors is a helluva drug

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 14 points 3 weeks ago

Elon tanks, always chickens out. (E-TACO).

[–] tyler@programming.dev 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Or Elon wants the Streisand effect to occur

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 32 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I would suspect that, but let's be honest, Elon isn't exactly the 5D chess type.
