I'm actually really glad that I waited until the deluxe edition was only $12.50 before I bought this game. I loaded it up and tried playing it on the settings that the game suggested and it was like playing the game in slow motion. Even once I set all of the graphics settings to the absolute lowest settings I could possibly find, for some reason in this game there is no "low setting," medium seems to be the lowest graphicals setting possible.

I'm happy that I have a game that I can play once I have an actual gaming machine, but it seems that almost all AAA games aren't capable of running on a laptop that has both 32GB of RAM, and a 4 TB SDD.

Why is it that years old games cannot play on maxed out hardware for the time?

This one is on my list - if you ever make it though the technical struggles, let me know if it's any good.

As far as your computer specs are concerned, the only thing that really matters is the GPU - everything else, as long as it's from the last 5 years or so, is irrelevant.

The first chapter has me hooked. Once I build another tower I will play it.

Okay but what are your actual specs? How much ram you have won’t matter if you’re rocking a 960 lol

I have a fully maxed out Acer Aspire 5. 32 gig of RAM, either 4 or 8 gig of VRam

So I had to Google it, but it looks like you have a 2050, but Jedi Survivor’s recommended specs lists a 2070. So you fall short of their recommended specs.

Thanks! Ahh well, that's just one of many games that are on my "once I build another tower" list.

Good luck man, I hope you get that new tower!

I will, sometime between Jun and Aug of next year. My budget is baked in a year in advance.

Not the op but I imagine I’ll be fine with an rtx 2060, Ryzen 5 3600, 16gb ram? Not a laptop. The game is on big sale so I picked it up on a whim

Nice, lmk how it runs for you! I’ve been holding off until I’m confident it’ll run well, I’ve got a 6600xt and a Ryzen 7 5800x.

If it works well for you I think I’ll finally grab it while it’s on sale.

Yeah I really don’t think you’re going to have any issues. I have vsync on, motion blur and camera shake off for my own preference, all settings on epic except post processing (it’s on high) and I’m not having any stuttering or tearing etc. It seems to be running just fine and looks good, just 1 hr in so far.

That’s great to hear, thanks for letting me know. Enjoy the game!

Does your laptop have a discrete graphics card or are you running integrated graphics? Have you ever redone the thermal paste or cleaned out your vents / fan?

Old laptops tend to thermal throttle a lot, and especially if you are running integrated graphics that will kill your performance very quickly. Not to mention laptop CPUs usually are less powerful than desktop, both for heat and battery life.

Post your specs and perhaps someone can help you more.

It's not that old. It's a maxed out Acer Aspire 5. The GPU is the one on the board, but it is an AMD ryzen something or other,, and I maxed the board out at 32gb RAM
