YouTuber MrBeast has issued an apology after his 'MrBeast Experience' at a Las Vegas resort did not live up to the billing.

The event at Resorts World Las Vegas was advertised as an "immersive" and "unforgettable" experience that included exclusive games, a MrBeast-themed menu and mystery bags thought to contain limited edition merch, including one with a $10,000 (£7,550) gift voucher.

Instead, the guests camped out in their hotel rooms waiting days for their bags to arrive. And when they did, the guests were underwhelmed.

"I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates," Ms Metta said.

Several users said on social media that they received T-shirts in different sizes, which could be purchased for $9 (£7) online.

Go away trash man.

The sad thing is, once he really hit it big, he could have just done good will stuff and kept the money fucking rolling in.

He didn't have to do * emotions to all of everything * this.

He could have hired a PR firm and a capable management staff, still had fun circle jerking his friends but actually be a positive force for society.

Everybody he has running the show is under educated, incapable, and unashamed of all this.

With that kind of money he should have a office building full of people working this shit out.

[–] LeroyJenkins@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

there's no way this dude hasn't hired a PR firm and management consultants. this is just the brand image he has now. remember that this dude used to make videos like counting to a thousand.

dude got a firm to tell him he's Willy Wonka and now he has another firm sculpting that image for him behind the scenes. Mr beast and his crew are just the front end operations that can't manage to stop fucking up on their own right.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The ghost kitchen venture and the chocolate venture were handled by external companies certainly It was just one of those slap your name on this thing.

But look deeper into the mismanagement of the events and the videos. Especially the last couple Vegas stints. Any event company would have had the first responders properly lined up and dangers managed. Especially in Vegas they do this kind of shit all the time.

Every single off the wall of event that he stages is just poorly managed. When people start asking questions and pointing fingers it ends up with him and his actual crew. There aren't any adults in the room.

[–] LeroyJenkins@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

no, they absolutely have teams and teams of suits working for them. people who get blamed are just the front end of the company, but this guy absolutely has a whole back office working for him.

[–] Flocklesscrow@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I really hate this guy's face

[–] YesButActuallyMaybe@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

It’s the soulless eyes that creep me out

[–] daepicgamerbro69@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

if you go to these or you let your children go, you deserve to get scammed, which is probably also Donaldson's point of view. No respect for that guy btw, but I doubt he has little of it for himself either.

[–] hightrix@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago (8 children)

Who the hell cares about this random streamer.

[–] demunted@lemmy.ml 17 points 2 days ago

Exactly. Paying 1000 dollars to see some scripted asshole is not how I would like to live. If was rich and had dumb kids that idolized him I would disable their internet access.

[–] Pilferjinx@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

"grifter". it's nice to know who's going to take advantage of you

Mr Beast is the quintessential example of someone who defines themselves by their unfathomable success, attributing it to their unique work-ethic and dedication, and then collapses under the weight of their impossibly large ego

[–] Mister_Hangman@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago

I could cook a turkey on the heat of this burn.

Thank you.

[–] SuperSaiyanSwag@lemmy.zip 40 points 2 days ago (1 children)

God damn, almost instinctually downvoted this post because I saw his face

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Y’know, the thing about him, he’s got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes.

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 110 points 2 days ago (7 children)

Judging by how Americans vote, this guy will be president within the next twenty years.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

We've already reached the point where only billionaires or celebrities can be candidates, extra points if they're both. Kim Kardashian stands a better chance of being the first woman president over Harris, AOC, Warren, or any other qualified woman.

Shut your dirty fucking mouth

They hated him because he told the truth

Ready to stop hearing about this dork

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 141 points 3 days ago (7 children)

I have never watched a single video of his.

I never want to do it either.

His smile NEVER reaches them. He's such a grifter

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He never figured out how to fake a smile. He knows a smile means moving the corners of the mputh up and showing some teeth, but his eyes remain dead and uncaring.

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago

MrBeast themed menu? Like a bunch of moldy lunchly?

[–] fidgeting9658@lemmings.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I can't tell if he's super stoned in this pic or if he just looks that soulless all the time. However, I lean towards the latter given his circumstances.

[–] daepicgamerbro69@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

it's the latter. Cameras notoriously steal souls, that's why youtubers can do those ad reads, whereas normal person's dignity wouldn't allow one to.

[–] jollyrogue@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 days ago

Oh, just a disappointing LV attraction. I was hoping for some Charlie Sheen level winning here. I could have used a good celebrity melt down this week.

He let us down AGAIN. SMDH 😔

[–] BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Does this weirdo have like one photo where he looks like he's smiling for real, is he incapable of feeling joy or something. He definately seems like he's on the spectrum when he talks, don't know if that's a contributing factor

[–] balthazarsnakewizard@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As I recall, he’s spent the last several years sanding down his whole personality as much as possible so as to become as inoffensive as possible so he can cast the widest possible net for an audience.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I don't think this is a spectrum thing. He's purely a manufactured identity. There's nothing left behind the mask.

[–] Flemmy@lemm.ee 38 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thing is this isn't the first time. He did more challenges with awards but once the video was done he took up and left off. Smiling to the bank with that uncanny valley expression.

Giving Fyre Festival a run for its money.

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 37 points 2 days ago (3 children)

He’s not sorry for anything honestly. He will continue to do bs like because of this fans. It maybe funny and cringe now but it will be interesting if he tries to run for office or alines with a political party. “ hey guys I just bought an election!”

MrBeast might not be the guy he says he is.

[–] Phil_in_here@lemmy.ca 32 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Oh, he 100% is. Not what he says with his words, but what he says with his dead eyes and propped up smile. He's not chasing a dream, he's running away from a nightmare of fame that has left him a hollow yet addicted for the high of fame that is no longer achievable. He is a man who shot for the moon and, instead of landing among the stars, found himself stranded on the cold, lifeless rock, drifting along forever, alone, exactly where he said he wanted to be.

Replying to a fan's complaint on X, Donaldson admitted it "definitely isn't the experience we hoped they'd deliver" and promised to make it up by inviting everyone affected to his studio.

I feel like this could have been on purpose. If it wasn't he would have offered refunds.
