That's pretty cool of you!

😎

Fr tho, I'd rather be cringe and myself than surround myself with people who wouldn't like the real me :3

I find it amusing that this is like the epitome of cool. This means that if a person's goal was to become cool, their surest path there would be to forsake their quest of coolness and learn how to be unabashedly themselves

I think it's only cringe though, when you try being something/someone you are not. Just "trying" something isn't cringe in itself.

If I went to a skate park and tried to learn the skateboard I would definitely suck but it wouldn't be cringe, imagine a middle aged man with knee protection falling on his ass.

It would be cringe if I went there all dressed up in the latest skate fashion trying to blend in with the cool kids, throwing some skate jargon around.

In order to be cool you first have to be cringe.

First you get the ideas, then you get the cringe, then you get the cool vase.

Give me 3 beers and I won't be cringe.

[–] RQG@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

No. Be cringe. Embrace the cringe. Become the cringe.

cringe makes the vase gold?

My kids all call me cringe.

I don’t care because their behaviour is all round awesome.

Means I’m getting parenting results baby!

If cool is gas and cringe is solid, what's liquid?

[–] dvoraqs@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

Probably crime

Being an asshole.

[–] M137@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

This implies that the result will also be cringe.
