It'll be more than that. There'll be millions of Americans who won't stand for it either. To think of it though, that might be the point. Something so heinous, yet legal (barely), that it legitimately compromises our security and forces martial law and a state of emergency he can exploit.

According to the US Supreme Court, a US president cannot be prosecuted for crimes (if they're related to their official duties, but whatever goes, I guess). This means that Canada is faced with the fact that they're being attacked by a foreign power with a ruler not beholden to the rule of law. If they give in, they're going to be conquered by a king who is not bound by a national constitution, legislative body, nor courts. This is an existential threat to their freedom as individuals with rights.

lol, no. The US are about to rediscover why Canadians were so feared in the world wars. Canada literally exists because we didn't want to be part of the US. If you want Washington burned down a second time, keep at it.

This is just a distraction to distract Americans, so they do not pay attention to all the things Krasnov Trump and Felon Musk are doing.
It’s hard to tell, but I think at least some of it is. The tariffs are meant to crash the economy so the rich can buy up land for cheap. Trump also wants martial law but seems to be struggling to invoke it without some kind of attack on the US.
I honestly hope this just fuels our country to find other, better, trade partners and to also bring in free trade between provinces.

The US absolutely does need Canada's natural resources. The Canadian people and its sovereignty stand between him / America and that golden goose.
If you recall the colonial era, when a stronger nation wants the resources of a weaker nation, it generally does not go well for the weaker nation.
Canada needs to accelerate the process of partnering with other nations now. It is never going to win a trade war against the US alone. Reciprocal tariffs are not going to cut it. Time to diversify the customer base and then tell the Americans to pound sand when they inevitably come knocking.
Canada is already the only G7 nation that has a free trade agreement with all other G7 nations.

And there you have it. It was never about fentanyl. It was always about annexation (i should just call it as it is and call it invasion). And that’s why there was never anything that Canada could do to stop the tariffs.
Not much i can do from across the ocean, except join in the boycott. But i’m boycotting anything American. Not just products of red states. I want to see America burn, and for Americans to lay the blame squarely on Trump, Elon, the Republican party and the 31% of Americans who are too stupid or racist to recognise a con.

When the President of the United States says this shit, is it okay now to say - as a Canadian - that I wonder why more Americans aren't trying to kill him yet? Like, what the hell is going on? HE IS GOING TO GET US ALL KILLED.
My pet conspiracy theory is that there's already been multiple attempts since Butler, but they aren't being publicized because they don't want to encourage others.

I think it's just because people still have hope that the systems will work as usual and right the ship. I think a lot of people are waiting to see what happens with this administration's reaction to court orders, etc. But I think that we're going to start spawning radicalized reactionaries soon.

We’ve been subjected to costs that we shouldn’t be subjected to. In the case of Canada, we’re spending 200 billion a year to subsidize Canada. I love Canada, I love the people of Canada.
