if you have to put this much effort into just keeping a fucking power plug from melting (something that has been functionally solved since at least the 1970s), you have a failed standard that needs to be obsoleted.

I recently built a PC and my 4070ti Super has this plug. Would it be a smart idea to just put a small stick-on heatsink on the plug itself? I have a few lying around so if there's no harm to it I might just put it on there.
4070 doesn't draw as much power so should be fine.
I've not had issues with my 4070ti in the past few years, I recall it drawing less than 300W peak, (tdp on the super is 275W I think) nearly half the draw the 5090 has, won't get anywhere near that warm.
Keep buying Nvidia, y'all.
Can't wait until I see some liquid cooling blocks and AIO solutions for this cable/connector and spec.
Such a shitty spec.
Doesn't the cable itself get hot too?
Someone joked in the comments on Romans video about water cooled plugs - I think that might not have been a joke but an insider leak.
Surely that's the last place you'd want a leak
But if you don't let the magic smoke demons out of your GPU it won't raytrace properly, and it might just turn you into a cat ear, striped stocking wearing, Arch (btw) femboy!
.....and I think that'd be swell!
...Is it possible to learn this power?
There are ways, rarely spoken of, dark... torturous ways.... and when the ritual is complete...you must acquire your own cat ears and thigh highs. The only thing gained from the ritual is the right to bother everyone else who even tangentially mentions computing that you use Arch.....btw.
Now go, young acolyte...and when your induction is complete?! Post mercilessly and endlessly pix of your thigh highed toesies pointed at your Neofetch page!
MWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAA!!!
