I'll never understand why people give a shit about votes on a form of social media that is clearly pointless. This place is a timepassing entertainment vehicle full of trolling and silliness. The points don't matter. Why care?

Up there with people who waste their time browsing other users history so they can remark about it.

I get your point, but for me, I don't take anything here on the internet serious. so down votes for me, express I posted something, and several people disliked it. To me, this is funny. I just wanted to hear what aponions others had, which they were hated for...

Bunch of ones where I’m defending Hexbear downvoted 0 to -5, but then I found this one:

Context is something about the election. The post is deleted, so idk what the photo was of, but I was responding to something about how not voting or voting for a 3rd party makes you a Trump supporter.

Saying: "Google says stalking is a crime in 50 US states." gave me 29 downvotes. The question was: "Would it be legal to crowdfund a licensed private detective to investigate a public figure and publish their results publicly?"

Agreeing that blocking ads is a form of piracy

I honestly don't remember any specifically. Probably because I'm not political, but I have never "deleted" a down voted comment. It's phony social media who cares about "votes"

This comment

The post was a news story about a sports arena calling a kid to the front and saying Santa got him a new PS5 but they didn't end up giving him one.

A top comment claimed this is legally considered theft. I replied saying it's shitty but it's not legally theft. Got 91 downvotes for that.

All my other downvoted comments come from posting in video game communities about how I don't think video games need to exist forever.

One has -45 and that was when I told someone, who I since blocked, that I wasn't going to look up something I knowingly talked about because of such thing existing. Which was knowing about Steam allowing people in the EU to re-sell their games. And they replied to my post being all like "SOURCE?" like as if it was some big fucking debate. Like dude, I wouldn't be saying shit if I knew what I was mentioning was a pure lie. I knew what I was talking about and people always think they're being coy by asking for sources and shit. I'm not here to hold your hand, the ball was in your court.

A lot of the other massively downvoted comments of mine, were just me responding to some of the low-life bastards that frequent some instances that come at me with their lame ass responses. Whom I also blocked because I'm not going to entertain their shit as long as they want me to. They just don't like people talking back to them.

My worst one was expressing doubt about all information we get regarding the Israel/Palestine conflict because it is definitely being used as a wedge to divide Americans and make us easier to manipulate. Context: the IDF found Super Evil Battle Plans on dead Hamas soldiers, instructing them to kill civilians. Because they need to be reminded that that's their mission I guess.

My second worst one was saying that we shouldn't euthanize every pit bull. Context: a pit bull attacked someone, and everyone in the thread thought the right move was to euthanize the whole breed.

My third worst one was saying that the Fahrenheit temperature scale is more useful for average people than Celsius. Context: shitpost about fahrenheit being a bad temperature scale

[–] wpb@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Regarding the first one, it really helps to read the case South Africa filed with the ICJ. It's only about 80 pages, but it's filled to the brim with evidence of "super evil battle plans" as you call them. You should really inform yourself on this conflict, it's pretty significant.

Suggesting that the cold-blooded murder of an unarmed man is morally indefensible. We all know what I'm talking about.

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That's definitely a terrible take but there's no reason to downvote it. I don't think you're trolling. You just have a different opinion and that's fine.
