You jest, but there are literal serial murderers who weren't caught because they were friends with the police. There was one that was a manager of a fried chicken place and gifted free chicken to cops so much, that they were intimate friends and even had them over for social visits to the place where they buried the bodies and the cops kept him informed about insights about the investigation of his own crimes. They never suspected a damn thing.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

I'm assuming they were eventually caught though? Otherwise we couldn't know this story.
Either that or the parent poster is admitting to something...
For legal reasons, I'm talking about John Wayne Gacy.
Pretty sure this is just a sub plot on breaking bad
Jeffrey Dahmer, except the kid had escaped and the cops gave him back to Dahmer.
While he was running naked through the street, bleeding out of his ass, and crying for help. It’s so unbelievably fucked.
That kid looks like Charlie Brown, but w/o his black zigzag shirt.
Thanks, I Hate It
It's important making new friends :-)
This is essentially the premise to Insomnia.
