His real parents, or his human adopted parents? Because I'm not so sure he ever had a chance to see his real parents fuck. Not unless they taped it and left it on one of those crystals in his fortress of solitude. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

How does one do the clapping thing in real life? Do you clap along with every word, or alternate between word and clap?

[โ€“] Bgugi@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Either at the start of each word or to accentuate each syllable.

[โ€“] Mickey7@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He was too young to see this on his home planet. So yeah he might have seen his earth foster parents do it

The point was he has "X-Ray" vision, which lets him see through solid objects. Ergo, he likely couldn't help seeing them from time to time until he learned to control that power.

His superpowers doesn't work on Krypton

Sexual reproduction is prohibited on Krypton anyway.

People in here apparently don't know enough about Superman to be confused by the question.

He grew up on a farm. He saw lots of sex.

Also, x-ray vision. He saw lots of sex.

[โ€“] nesc@lemmy.cafe 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

And? People have sex even if they have children already.

Part of the social contract, what can you do?

I believe the point is, usually your kids don't have the power to see through walls. Of course I'm pretty sure most interpretations of superman, Depending on the interpretation of superman, he discovers his powers between 12 and 18.

He probably didn't have a choice no matter when he got the power - I doubt he knew how to control it right off the bat.

Damn Martha and John catching some strays here. Guys, they're his parents too.

Which part confused you. Show us on the doll.

[โ€“] cheesemoo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh did OP mean his adoptive parents? I was thinking about his birth parents on Krypton.

He may have been on the other room but his x-ray vision and super hearing means he knew exactly what was happening.

[โ€“] ShellMonkey@lemmy.socdojo.com 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

If he has x-ray vision shouldn't he just be seeing a bunch of bones or other dense objects not penetrable by x-rays? Can it be shut off? How? Are we sure he wasn't responsible for a drastic rise in cancer rates by going around just blasting everyone with his radiation vision all day?

[โ€“] AdamEatsAss@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

While he can turn off his laser vision I am going to go ahead and say he cannot turn off x-ray vision. Superman only identifies people based on skeletal structure.

[โ€“] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Have you ever seen Superman compliment someones hair?

Me neither.

[โ€“] nesc@lemmy.cafe 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is there a one-shot somewhere about people around superman getting cancer due to his x-ray vision? I think it would be an observable phenomenon if his eyes always worked in this manner.

[โ€“] NeatoBuilds@mander.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

Like watchmen

In the comics (at least those from my decades ago childhood), it's depicted as him seeing the same as normal people do - just through stuff. As such, I've always assumed it's not actually X-Rays proper & they just used that phrase to convey the concept of seeing through solid objects.
