Still the question of MSRP is hanging out there.

Will it actually target what we used to consider a mid-range card?

What's mid range price now? I remember getting an ATI HD5770 for I think like $150 and then later a GTX 970 for like $320. Ten years ago for the 970 and that 970 had a 145w TDP. 5770 108w TDP

8800xt after its price settles after half a year may be right for me

So just went shopping for a 4070/7800 XT and prices are 500-700 hundred now for what is considered mid-range.

Yeah definitely a far cry from 5700XT, which was considered mid-range, just a few years back at 400.

I think those cards are slightly above mid range. They are very powerful cards.

PC gaming is turning into upper class hobby...

It really is ever since ray tracing came about.

On the other hand, with the Steam Deck sparking competition in the PC handheld market again, PC gaming has never been easier or cheaper to get into. Especially with used units starting to hit the market.

Still 45% slower than without RT at all.

That's odd because I had previously heard the 8000 series was intended to be midrange only. A 7900 XTX is insanely fast already.

I think it's better ray tracing performance than XTX but rasterizing similar to 7900xt. So RTX 4070ti to 4080 performance

That's still pretty high end in my opinion!
