The bear is enjoying the result of years of crushing the soul of the poor, poor rabbit.

Rabbit is actually just now incredibly guilt ridden for being so selfish and even more devestated that their relationship with Bear isn't enough to make them happy. And even more self loathing for thinking all this way in the first place. This leads Rabbit to close themselves off even further and push bear away. "I'm not good enough for Bear. They'll be happier with someone else" Rabbit tells themself.

Rabbit will flash back to this once every few months for the next 20 years until on the anniversary of the day Bear left, Rabbit takes their own life with the very spoon used to stir the tea that day.
