Looking forward to attack on Titan season final final last one really this time untitled part 5 penultimate edition part 1. Spy X family is great and I'd completely forgotten about frieren, that was a kinda sad one but I'm looking forward to that too

First four episodes of Frieren are already out btw. Aired yesterday as one big 2hr episode but it's four episodes on Crunchyroll

Why is anyone excited for AOT anymore? This "Final Season Final Chapters Part 1" crap has completely jumped the shark

[–] UsernameIsTooLon@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Manga readers? I've known the ending for years now and I want to let Mappa cook. That's why people are excited.

So is this next bit actually going to be the end? I told myself at the end of S3 that I would wait until S4 ended since I heard it was the final season. Woops lol

Yes. There is about 1 volume left to cover and the last 1 hour also covers about as much. Tbh I think it's worth it for a series like this. I was an AoT hater for the longest time after S2 but now that it's ending, I think it's one of the greatest pieces of literature I've ever witnessed. The way the story unfolds is unlike anything else I've ever witnessed in any form of media.

I am honestly surprised to see Goblin Slayer and Shield Hero on this list.

Not because they're bad or anything, I certainly thought they were quite good (except the Turtle Arc, which was also kinda bad in the LNs to be fair), but because nearly everywhere I saw on the internet had huge hate boners for both of them.

What happened with the AOT title? Anyways, excited for Frieren and also Apothecary Diaries.

Wait, wasn't there a new Gundam show,

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's currently not running. Honestly, it felt pretty boring for me. I liked the characters enough, but holy shit we're they dragging ass on story progression.

Witch from Mercury's cancelled? Huh, and I was just starting to care about the big fighting robot genre.

WfM was only one season. They just broke it up calling it season one and two. Instead of being cour one and two like it was initially advertised as. And in my opinion the show really suffered from being only one season long. Hell just two or three more episodes might've done wonders. Show just turned into a pile of wasted potential in the end for me.

If you want another Gundam to watch I'd recommend giving Turn-A a shot. It's only subbed though if dubbing matters.

Completely agree, WFM needed another season or at least another stretch of episodes. So much potential left on the floor. It sucks cause I loved the series and the characters, and I credit it for getting me back into Gundam after many years away.

I’ve been watching Iron Blooded Orphans to fill in the gap and it’s pretty good.

It was my first Gundanm, I loved the first part but the second one kinda lost me.

[–] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Huh. Have I seen the second season? I remember a huge post-credits cliffhanger. I'm sad it's not continuing.

[–] EternalWarBear@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Nope you didn't miss anything if you watched all 24 episodes. It was just split into 12 episodes last fall and the 12 episodes we had in spring this year. Marketing called the spring run "season 2". Typically a Gundam series is about 50 episodes split 24-25 each season.

There's supposedly a 3 episode mini-series called Gundam Build Metaverse coming out in October, but I haven't heard anything about it recently.

is there no rental girlfriend episode thread here?
