"That there was a craigslist ad" is evidence of absolutely nothing. Let's review that headline:

  • Election commissioner Yup.
  • presents evidence Nope.
  • that Trump Nope.
  • caught Nope.
  • paying people to attend rally Yup.

So the somehow more accurate headline reads:

Election commissioner 'paying people to attend rally'

This article is bullshit propaganda. And before you cry foul, check my comment history. We should all demand accurate journalism about everything, and call it out when it's bullshit.

Which is fucking funny, because you couldn't pay me to be there.

Hey, I have a number... it's extremely high, but I do have a number.

A rare case where the initial comment's sentiment and the rebuttal are both completely valid.

Based on Trump's current finances, he probably couldn't afford you.

I'm pretty okay with that outcome, but I'm always happy to help him achieve bankruptcy if he wants.

You should run for Congress.

The Trump campaign paid a contractor who then hired a subcontractor, Extra Mile Casting, to provide services at the 16 June 2015 rally where Donald Trump announced he would run for U.S. president.

He's been using actors since Day One.

This is a non-story btw

Some random person jumped the gun over a Craigslist ad paying someone to advertise their brand at the rally.

If you're gonna criticize Trump and show how pathetic he is, at the very least don't make stuff up

[–] SeaJ@lemm.ee 36 points 5 months ago (1 children)

He paid people to go to his first presidential run announcement so why change things up?

[–] Plopp@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago

Escalator doofus with a fake crowd.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago

so.... when he drew in the stick figures for his inauguration... did his checks start bouncing or something?

[–] Habahnow@sh.itjust.works 8 points 5 months ago

Wow this is a shitty headline, and the commissioner is an idiot too. A company wants to advertise their brand at the rally, and wants someone to wear their logo there. So it was not "Trump" that paid them (at least we have no evidence to suggest that) and they were paid to advertise rather than just attend. Lets talk about the the real problems Trump, the 34 time felon, actually has.

I've read that his announcement for his 2016 run was full of people paid to be there, but I don't recall where and I can't substantiate the claim.
