If the arrest warrants are approved, do they actually have any power? Are there examples of such arrest warrants being executed for high ranking officials, especially heads of state?

They have to go to a country that recognizes the Icc, so they’re welcome in america

Nope. It all depends on whether it's in the interests of those in power to carry out such arrest warrants. For instance, Germany will happily arrest any Hamas leaders they can, but will never arrest any Israeli war criminal no matter how many warrants are issued for their arrests.

Nice of Biden to take Netanyahu’s dick out of his mouth for long enough to say “no!”

[–] Drusas@kbin.run -5 points 3 months ago (3 children)

This has absolutely nothing to do with Biden. The US isn't even involved in the ICC.

But it was nice of you to take Republican dick out of your hands long enough for you to type something.

Oh? What do you call billions of dollars in military aid?

[–] Drusas@kbin.run -4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I call it unrelated to decisions made by the prosecutor of the ICC.

Sure if you ignore months of Biden fighting anyone who said Israel was committing war crimes and arms shipments to them are illegal under US Law. If that's what you want to do then yeah I guess Biden has nothing to do with it...

[–] Drusas@kbin.run -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I don't have to ignore those because they are, in fact, unrelated to decisions made by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

You can try to "but Biden" all you like, but you're just making yourself seem foolish.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Lmao. Biden is out there right now linking himself to this as hard as he can. But I'm the foolish one.

I live on a different continent, and my politics, such as they are, lean in exactly the opposite way to your republicans, but sure, my assessment of Biden being Netanyahu’s bitch is completely unfounded…

Fucked around and found out. I wonder if the EU would arrest Netanyahu?

[–] mctoasterson@reddthat.com 1 points 3 months ago

If you want to know how worthless this is, realize that Palestine is/was technically signatory to ICC enabling treaties, and they would therefore be obligated to arrest and hand over Sinwar which obviously isn't going to happen.
