I use arch on my laptops, debian on my servers, and I recommend fedora to others. I'm also nix/guix curious.

Q4OS, a very user-friendly Debian-based OS.

FreeBSD 13 and Fedora KDE spin.

Debian Bookworm, I like to live on the edge. The extremely stable edge.

Windows 11, but I'm currently playing around with different Linux distros trying to see if I can finally get rid of windows for good.

I'm not sure which one is my main. I have an old MacBook Air, haven't updated the OS in a long time because I got tired of MacOS becoming merged with iOS. I have a desktop that dual boots between Windows 10 and Ubuntu. I use them all about the same amount. Honestly, I use my phone more than either.

Fedora Workstation 38. Dual boot Windows on a separate drive, but this is solely for gaming. I know gaming on Linux has gotten better, but I want the best experience, which is much easier on Windows.

EndeavourOS with GNOME!

NixOS. I distrohopped for years but now I've landed and it has been several years since I felt any urge to explore alternatives (maybe with the exception of Guix, which is basically the same idea but everything is in Guile Scheme (Lisp)).

I'm never going back to a mutable OS if I can help it.

Windows 10 Pro, I'm waiting for end of life in a couple of years to migrate to Linux. Depending on how it goes, it'll probably be a one way trip.

Proxmox.

I spin up VM's and pass through my graphics card. If I'm studying I'll but into kbuntu. If I'm playing or streaming video games, windows 10. I also have several VMs for different purposes. A Win10 with quicken for tracking family expenses. A Proxmox backup server to house backup images from my primary Proxmox cluster, using three old PCs. As an example.

Pop OS from the start of the year. The Steam Deck showed be his far Linux gaming has come, no issues running the things I play. Glad to be rid of Windows

Manjaro, because it's up to date while easy to use.

Dual boot Windows 11 and EndeavourOS on KDE

I don't think there's a single "main" computer anymore. My home computer is Linux Mint Cinnamon. My mobile computer (which I use nearly as much as my desktop OS) is Android.

My next smartphone is going to allow installing a privacy-respecting custom ROM (because Linux on mobile really isn't there yet). Once I do that, I'll focus on f-droid apps only. Something to look forward to.

Linux, I like my main boxen to be stable. Unlike my Windows game box.

I just switched to Linux with PopOS about a month ago. My aging HDD is about to die because of bad sectors, and I was able to get myself a great deal on a 1 TB Crucial P3. Got it and decided to install Linux instead of cloning my HDD.

There are minor pains of using Linux over Windows and trying to run Windows programs on it, but it is so much better now compared to even just a year or so ago.

Fedora, first I just went with it to try it, but now I stick with it. It's great because things just work, and I haven't come across problems I didn't know how to fix.

Windows 11 for my gaming PC. Debian running KDE Plasma for my work PC. Debian without a DE for my various home lab PCs.

Windows 10 Pro on my main desktop but I do have an old laptop now running Zorin OS Lite which I use mostly when I'm on vacation or taking a long train.

Everything else just sucks (haven't tried LFS, NixOS and Gentoo. But for sure I kinda hate Debian and Fedora based distros as they kinda suck and I mostly hate Microsoft based Operating Systems as they suck the most)

I used to have strong opinions about operating systems. Installed various Linux builds and boot loaders to run different OS's. Etc

Now I use windows. I can't even tell you what version without looking. 10 I guess? Windows finally "just works" and I haven't had a BSOD in forever so I really don't care.

Windows 11 is my newest "main" computer. I also just got a nice Win 11 laptop for my new business.

Though my "working" IT laptop boots with both Windows 10 and Ubuntu.

Windows 11, because it was preinstalled and i just surf the web and stream from Netflix, Disney, Prime etc.

Currently I'm dual booting, mainly Arch for the most part and Windows 10 for my games.

I can't use proton for most of my games since all of them are latency sensitive (rhythm games).

I'm generally running a Linux distribution on my computer, as for which one - well I have a tendency to distro hop around quite a bit. As of yesterday I'm on Fedora Kinoite (though I still have my Arch partition around in case I feel I need to go exit/go back) and it has been pretty smooth thus far. I have regular Fedora KDE Workstation installed on my old Macbook Pro as well, so it makes sense I suppose!

I also have a Windows partition for when I want to play a game that either doesn't work on Linux at all (cough Destiny 2...) or doesn't work as well on Linux, at some point I'd like to completely erase it though.

I wish GeForce Now worked better on Linux as I'd just use that otherwise. But for some reason, every time I've tried a game streaming service on Linux (GFN, Stadia, Luna, even Shadow PC) it has always felt like it was performing worse than when I ran it in Windows (just to make sure there were no issues with say my network).

Mobile-wise I just use stock ("Google'd" - yes, I know...) Android on my Pixel. On my servers I tend to use RHEL based distros, but with the recent news about RedHat's shenanigans I'm wondering if I should be regretting my choice now, but I guess we'll see.

Garuda linux has been my goto on my personal computer and laptop for about 3 years now, basically since it was released on my work machine i use windows unfortunatly.

on my two little media servers, i run arch inside proxmox continers.

Linux Mint Cinnamon, it just works without any extra faffing about. Been using it for my course for nearly 2 years without any problems!
