They can invite me as much as they want but im still on strike until the writers and actors get a new contract that actually pays them and provides a livable situation.

MODERATORS
SAG and WGA want people to watch the new content. Their members still make money from it during the strikes, and continued demand is further evidence that their work is worth the money. If nobody goes to the movies or watches TV, then it gives the AMPTP more reason to say that actors and writers shouldn’t be paid so much.
Watching sure but I'm not attending any hosted events by the studios.
Seconded. I completely agree and was about to say the same thing myself. Just far less succinctly.
They are inviting me to give them money? How generous of them. 😑
Would be even better if Paramount signed the contracts so everyone can back to work making new Star Trek. ✊

E: Watching the trailer, they definitely pre-recorded the segments because no way Eugene and Tawny would do this.
Just amazed at how far ahead they planned for the strike, but maybe that's the result of how poorly it went the last time it happened.
it's wild that enterprise is the only series left out of the promotional material. lol
Strange no ENT representation in the promotion. Also strange, isn't that Murf from Prodigy on the right side, middle outer edge of the Animated Celebration promotional image? If it is, I'm not going to read anything into it. I don't see any other Prodigy characters, but sharper eyes than mine might.

I’m glad to see two Canadian cities included in the Lower Decks screenings, Vancouver and Calgary. And in London for the UK too.
Paramount’s communications and marketing folks seem to be struggling still with messaging outside the US. It’s a beginning, if unfortunately happening during a strike.
Vancouver seems a natural given the USS Vancouver appeared in the show, and as Titmouse Animated works on the show there. Curious why Calgary got the nod, other than its being Bruce Horak’s home town. With the event falling on the second day of the Toronto International Film Festival, it not surprising that they weren’t able to book a screen there. Hopefully, there’ll be a future 70mm live action season premiere at the original IMAX at the Science Centre near where SNW has filmed at Ontario Place.

The absolute mess of a production 2022's Star Trek Day makes me both want to watch this and skip it. The only redeeming things were the hosts but it was obvious that they were even making things up on the spot.
Previous years were better but still not well done. ( I recall a pair of social media personalities one year leading the social media side who clearly didn’t know the franchise.)
Having Jerry as a host with some prerecorded bits sounds like a better plan, but in previous years the hosts had to cover for a lot of disorganization.
Beyond the fact that SAG-ACTRA is not calling for audience boycotts (yet), I am wondering if Jerry is exempt from the strike conditions when performing as a host. Hosting or reality TV aren’t covered by the union (although they would like it to be). If he doesn’t speak at to his role in Lower Decks (which is covered under a different animated writers union), it’s possible that live hosting is permitted.
