Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, longboards, unicycles: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!

"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.

micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

Great! Small engines are dirty as fuck.

Propeller motors can be surprisingly power dense since they get built in free water cooling.

There is no motor that's going to change the world of outboards. Lemme know when they make a battery that has enough power to get a dinghy up on plane for an hour.

I’ve been thinking the same about snowmobiles. Most of the ones I see are still dirty-ass 2 strokes, because the power density is so high. And—like a boat—you don’t want to end up stranded. Winter and sea rescues are expensive and dangerous.

If that USB C port could accept power, it would be quite interesting to have solar generation input while tootling along. Sort of like this video.

I suppose they could add a solar MPTT directly to this outboard, but that might be too much scope creep. This only has 378 Wh, so it's entirely conceivable that solar or a small battery would be a reasonable range extender.
