As a kid I used to think the Lwaxana episodes were the dumbest things around. Now? Among my most favorite episodes. I will never tire of seeing Picard, the diplomat extraordinaire, being completely fucking lost for words. He had to beg Data to interrupt his dinner with her. Also the quoting of Shakespeare he has to do in order to save her from Daimon Tog? Dude spits The Bard for breakfast but he's desperately searching in that scene and I love it so much.

Considering I'm going to rewatch them anyway, I figured I'd add the links for anyone else who wanted to. Just so you don't have to go searching.

I’m going through TNG for the first time, and I’m approaching it with the idea that you’ve got to take in everything on a first round, the good, the bad, and Lwaxana Troi episodes.

I’ve got admit, though, every time I see her or a Ferengi, all my baser violent Klingon-esque urges come out, and I’d like to take a shotgun to my TV.

The Ferengi get a lot more interesting in DS9, once they add a few Ferengi main characters. In TNG they are mostly just a recurring villain. The DS9 Ferengi episodes are god-tier.

@bionicjoey what TNG did to flesh out Klingons, DS9 does for the Ferengi, although I guess DS9 develops the Klingons further as well

Cardassians and Bajorans too. Really TNG only fleshes out a small handful of races
