Especially since I have the default-black icon at the moment, therefore it must have been there previously.

Isn't the icon also material you? So it changes colors based on theme?

I have A11 so definitely not on my phone. Also I'm pretty sure I picked it manually.

Well it doesn't change to white theme for me even on a Pixel on A13
