I've watched so many isekai shows recently that this fast forward through the explanation of how Kenichi got isekai'd and going straight into building the new world felt somewhat welcome, though it might not be too friendly to people new to the genre.

Kenichi wasn't OP at fighting but his skill gave him apparently quite favorable exchange rates for those other world coins so he'll be able to survive as a merchant. There wasn't much in the plot that felt gripping immediately. Probably shouldn't expect some world-changing event in an anime named "The Daily Life of", we'll see how they execute this one.

This feels like a great candidate for source material licensing, to be honest. I think the fast forwarding over the exposition leaves an opening for those viewers who want more detail to pick up the novel, save the current lack of officially-released source material.

You could pick up Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill in the meantime.

Funny you mention that, since I think someone else said the same to me, and I agreed...or was that you? 🤔

It's an easy comparison to make with the Isekai-Amazon gimmick.

Touché. I'll give it a look in the next week-ish and report back.
