I looked up your comment history and saw the comment in question.

Changes in the anconym may not be meaningful to you. I don't keep up on it either, to be honest. But to the people it does include, it's very meaningful. I think this is one of those "put yourself in their shoes" type things. You shouldn't be dismissive.

I don't condone hateful replies towards you either. It doesn't help anything.

That's the problem with these people though, they can't put themselves in others shoes. They can't see past the end of their own nose to try and understand what life is like for someone else.

Yeah, I can't argue that. Lots of hate in the world, and so much of it from people just like you describe.

Maybe this person is different. Maybe not. Worst case, my approach changes nothing. But, maybe it will.
