Lol this is just a joke... Food should have always been completely tax free! Two weeks?!? What kind of circus is this?? Is he trying to buy votes for $250/pop? I'm amazed at what they come up with next.

Food should have always been completely tax free!

Real food is... beer and candy always has tax on them, and rightfully so considering the burden they cause on our healthcare system.

Yes, I agree on the alcohol tax re. Healthcare costs. However, I ferment my own drinks and I'd like to point out the irony of buying raw ingredients + yeast, vs buying a prepared drink. It's like you are getting taxed for convenience as a deterrent.

It’s like you are getting taxed for convenience as a deterrent.

That's not a bad thing, though.

I'm sure someone can grow their own tobacco, dry it, process it, roll it into cigarettes, and smoke it. But going to a store and buying a carton is super easy. Tax the hell out of the latter, because that would deter everyone but the most hardcore death enthusiasts. And the burden to our healthcare system is going to be from those who are buying out of convenience.
