Honestly seems to me like contract negotiations fell through. It's easy to forget these are entertainers that negotiated a contract with an entertainment company and that these talents can choose to work for other companies, or for themselves, if they believe it's better.

My understanding is that these two were fairly popular streamers before joining Cover and probably felt like their contract wasn't worth it.

Magni was. Vesper has 15k subs (10k before Hololive), I really doubt it’s about the money (at least for him).

That's what I've seen people saying. Sucks to see them go but as you say, if they felt that the contract wasn't in their best interests then they have every right go reject it and just go back to being a solo streamer

Magni currently has 4 times the subscribers on his other channel and there he doesn't need to give 50% of earnings to Cover. He probably thought Holostars might give him a bigger boost, but compared to Hololive the numbers seems to be tough.

As for Vesper, he was much smaller before, but maybe he's going back to it. A certain Orc salary man has already posted his spear on Twitter :)
