It's funny because for the last four years Republicans have been complaining about the current president's cognitive ability (which one could argue has some credit, but that depends on who you ask), but in 1994, six years after Ronald Regan, the single most "conservative" president until Trump came around, was fucking diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. The National Institute of Health did a study on his speeches and manarisms in the last few years of his presidency.

President Reagan showed a significant reduction in the number of unique words over time and a significant increase in conversational fillers and non-specific nouns over time.

In 2011, his son came out and said he noticed his father's declining mental state as early as his first term.
