Communities on feddit.de won't update 'cos the instance is kaput - the replacement is https://feddit.org/
Sigh, does that mean I have to block that entire instance as well?
Are there any active english communities there?
You can just hide all German language posts in your settings.
Doesn't really work when 99% of posts are marked undetermined.

Most of their communities look to be German, but their biggest one - !europe@feddit.org - is English language only
