One time I caught them in the act, so I made some pretty scary/angry threats and they never came back.
This was after having pretty constant issues for years. Someone stole my motorcycle in the middle of the night shortly after that though, I always wonder if that was their "revenge" or just a coincidence. Insurance payout was more than I paid for the bike though, so that was nice and I have an even better heavier bike now.
Financially you got ahead on the bike, but do you think the insurance claim, emotional toll, time without a bike, etc. was worth the improvement for the new bike? It seems easy for someone who has never been a victim of theft to just look at the numbers and assume that person is better off. How do you feel about your bike situation?
Fuck no. I'm still mad about it, my skills degraded in the months it took me get it all sorted out. I feel like I have to watch my bike like a hawk now. Got three separate alarm systems/trackers on it. And I still miss my old bike. I put a lot of TLC into it, and all that kinda feels wasted in retrospect. Makes me glad I procrastinated on some of the maintenance though, lol. Was going to replace the brake fluid but decided to wait a bit.
