Not op but I guess they might mean in case the string breaks or if the cat's tooth gets stuck on it.

I also get anxious when my cats bites weird stuff 😅 but they usually know when to stop.

Nah he’s good. It’s just nylon string anyway. He’s got a gentle bite.
