Put (whole) cashews (500g? 1gk?) on a backing tray in the oven on 180°C for about 45 mins, check and mix every 10-20 minutes so the don't burn (this goes pretty fast in the end) until brown. While the oven is hot also roast some almonds afterwards (if you wanna you can soak them in (salted or unsalted) water but you don't have to). We usually do this before or after baking bread / cake / lasagne when the oven is hot anyway. Check out other nuts to taste, I think this should work with hazelnuts as well, not sure about walnuts ...
