What’s their asylum claim? I can’t afford it here. Hell where can normal citizens make that claim.

The article states that they can claim asylum if they'll be harmed if they are forced to return home. Which is probably true in many cases. That isn't the issue.

The issue is that a bunch of international students suddenly find themselves in a situation where they can't afford their education.
