Squirrels are native here in South Africa, I have a pair of Smith's bush squirrels or tree squirrels living here in my garden. Their population took a knock when my neighbour gave his two boys pellet guns without supervision, luckely they moved or something a year ago. All I know is a wise old man once said: "Morty, you don't mess the squirrels."
