I would still not panic THAT much. Like this is scary, sure. But not that scary as the election is still 1.5 years away. 1.5 years is still a very long time in terms of politics.

Agreed. Or at least I hope so. There's plenty of time for people to become aware that inflation has decreased, pharmacare and dental care to get introduced, etc. If they'd strengthen labor too, that'll be great.

If they do something marketable around housing and maybe smack some corpo household names a bit, that'll be even more amazing. Love me some Galen Weston and Mirko Bibic tears. I won't hold my breath on that one but I can dream.

Yeah, bad economic news leads people to wanting change, regardless of its rationality. If the economy and inflation turn around, things could change dramatically. Small things like rebranding the Carbon Rebate might help a lot, too. People will hopefully be a lot less accepting of PP's plan to remove Carbon Pricing when they lose out on hundreds of dollars every quarter (and the world burns in the summer, and all the BC fruit dies in cold snaps).

The US Election might scare people away from conservatism a bit, too, depending how their descent into fascism goes... one can only hope.
