In my right pocket with my keys

[–] crazycaveman@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Everyone know those are supposed to go in your left pocket! ...right?...

[–] MrJameGumb@lemmy.world 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

They could I suppose, but then they'd scratch up my phone screen

[–] InfiniteStruggle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Are you left handed? Otherwise I must report you to the gestapo for keeping your phone in the wrong pocket.

[–] ElJefe@lemm.ee 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I’m right hand dominant, and I do the same as the commenter you replied to… I thought it was a common thing!

[–] MrJameGumb@lemmy.world 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I am also right handed and have never even considered putting the phone in my right pocket lol! I've been carrying my keys in my right pocket since I was old enough to have keys so I don't see that changing any time soon!

[–] crazycaveman@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I keep my keys, wallet, change, pen, and anything else in my left pocket. Right pocket is exclusively for phone.

[–] MrJameGumb@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I do the same except my phone goes in the left pocket and literally everything else in the right pocket lol

[–] SnipingNinja@slrpnk.net 2 points 8 months ago

I'll join the right handed person keeping the phone in my left pocket, in fact I left hand my phone, though if I need to it's easier to use my right hand when I need it, current phones are just not well designed for one-handed use.

I never have a whole lot of change anymore so yes when I have a few coins they just rattle around loose until they end up in the change jar!

Coins are generally pretty hard on pants pockets... Do you often end up with holes?

[–] MrJameGumb@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Nope, it's never been an issue. I would think coins would be a lot harder on a thin wallet that you're sitting on constantly

[–] thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Cool. Personally my pants pockets started lasting much longer when I stopped carrying coins in them, but I'm glad it's working for you.

I've also deformed/worn out wallets from carrying coins too... So now I just don't carry them, lol.

That sounds like a lot of coins, I keep coins in the coin pocket, it's just named so for a reason.

[–] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

You mean the little mini pocket inside your real pocket on jeans?

Actually called a money pocket and was meant for rolled up dollar bills.

[–] SnipingNinja@slrpnk.net 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Always heard it called a coin pocket

[–] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Well it came from the Gold Rush so coins wouldn't make a load of sense.

It was for watches originally but came to be used for coins once pocket watches went out of fashion, based on a cursory Google. I didn't see any mention of it being named money pocket
