The best colloquial term for that rant is probably "doubling down".

You are correct on one thing: I have not heard that phrase used in the manner in which you describe.

I do find it hard to believe that you haven't heard the term outside of the initial portmanteau, so I suppose you could say i'm trifecting down.

You could if you had faith in yourself. My momma always said "Jeff, you could do anything you want if you weren't so damned stupid". That's why I never had faith in myself.
