From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

There's also plenty of obvious reasons to hate the X windowing system. Like that it's unmaintained and going the way of the dodo. Plus learning about a system that is old is less interesting than something that is new. I don't care about the ways a dead, unmaintained system sucks, so why would I ask?

Yeah, thanks for proving my point.

Your point being..?

If you wanted to know my opinions on X11, you could've just asked!

Your point being…?

Read my first sentence at the beginning of this comment chain.

Yeah, and I explained why that was true, why would I be interested in comments about X being bad? Where does that go?

Your point seems like nonsense. Of course I don't ask about X. There's also a billion other things I don't ask about, because they're boring.

Yeah, thanks for proving my point.

Your point is... that I wouldn't ask about x...? why even bother writing that.

Still makes no sense, why would I ask about x? I also wouldn't ask about dos. This seems like a pointless observation.
