For those who have MK 1 on Switch, how much difference this patch makes?

It's been a while since I played the unpatched version, so take this as a very informal review. It took a while to start when I first booted it, maybe it was still doing some work in the background. But once the logos started appearing it just went on to the intro and stuff. Some things seem to show up faster, but it's still far from ideal.

There's one part that might be a bit better than before, say when you press "Local" to just fight one fight against the CPU or another player locally. It still takes a good while until you get to the character selection screen though.

Something that's still quite bad is the character render while you're choosing a character. Say you choose Sub-Zero, you wait a few seconds, and Sub-Zero shows up on the screen. When you move your cursor to a different character, Sub-Zero will remain there for quite a few more seconds, until whatever your new character is loaded. So if you're fast (not even trying to be fast, just tapping your d-pad normally), you'll go through lots of characters that will not render at all, since it takes them some time.

The other really bad part is once both characters have been chosen, there's this zoom in where they say something to each other. And this is so awkward, since both models just stay there, staring at each other, while you wait for the fight to load...

awkward

Fights do feel like they might be faster. You still get some proper frame drops and once in this fight the camera stayed still while the action happened kind of out of frame to the right.

I haven't played the new patch that much (maybe this weekend), but I played several fights on the unpatched version locally. It doesn't feel like a massive improvement, or maybe I just don't remember it that well and it's definitely much faster.

It's still a fun game, I just hope they keep fixing and optimising it. And hopefully they fixed these kind of weird glitches... fatality glitch

Thanks for your feedback. Still a long way to go.
