It never bothered me per se, but it's definitely awkward to come across some chapter of human suffering on r/HistoryPorn.

Plus people do eat bugs. It's just that here most of our bugs are tiny and not really suitable for meals so we think of them as pests.

I like to think of it as a reset to early 2000s internet, which was basically the golden age.

Every time that last part happens I have to check the proper spelling of Berenstain. I've had some that really seem like they should have been impossible lol

I love the utilitarian design, it really looks like something we would send out in to deep space for the first time. Quarters that look more like dorm rooms, uniforms that don't look like pajamas, those buttresses in the corridors, LCD panels. But they also include design elements that look like embryonic versions of elements from TOS. It's great.

With Threshold I always was mildly impressed with how they made a point that evolution doesn't necessarily mean that a species will become super advanced somehow. That they evolved "in-place" instead of over generations is still a pretty bonkers misunderstanding of evolution that they always fall for, but I guess watching them turn into lizards over the next several decades probably wouldn't make the best TV lol
