Kid with machete? Totally normal.

Dude in a robe waving guns around? Also normal.

Biting a face into a pancake and wearing it on your face so you can chug maple syrup? Totally understandable. But I would go with the real stuff personally.

BUT! Why does the person in a furry mask have someone tied up under a table in what looks like a basement though? Is this a new sex thing kids are into?

I believe it's called "methusexual"

[–] WillFord27@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

That isnt just any dude. That dude is Harry fucking Potter

[–] PlantDadManGuy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

No big deal. I tied like five people to a table at my last SBBQ

I'm looking at the kid with the machete, and feeling pretty judged.

Maybe OP just hates plaid?

Or maybe it's a joke on a kid pretending they're an adult and ready for a TTRPG with adults? Because that is definitely annoying. I haven't played random online pickup games in forever, but I was extremely opposed to playing with kids, for many reasons. Teaching them how to play is one thing - I helped run a DnD club at the school I work at - but that's definitely sharing the hobby rather than games that I actually enjoy for myself.

OP is getting advice from Mom on what to do with his spare time, which isn't exactly exuding mature grownup adult vibes.

Maybe the pic should instead have a picture of a grownup who's extremely opposed to playing with kids for many reasons?

I have a strange type of social anxiety that keeps me from playing multiplayer games online with anyone other than people I know in person because I feel like I'm going to group with one of these weirdos and then get stuck with them following me around or messaging me constantly lol

I know it's an irrational fear, but my brain is dumb.

[–] the_joeba@lemmy.world 33 points 1 year ago

It's not irrational, you aren't dumb. I feel the same. I still don't want to play with you.

Weirdly I have no problem with being left with people I've never met as long as I know someone and they introduce us. If a friend trusts us together, we can skip the awkward feeling out steps

But then I'll hurt their feelings 😅

Yeah seconded. Whats the problem of a cocked up gun dual wielding wizard, hmm ?

[–] Szymon@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

cocked up

That's a different movie than the one I remember

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Tell me harry doesnt look like he snorted one line too many

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Cocked= slang for loading a gun or some sort of phallic reference. Coked up= high on cocaine

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, he IS holding guns. Sorry, english isnt my first, thank you for the definitions :)

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No worries! English is a bastard language that makes no sense lol

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 1 points 1 year ago

Laughts in french

For reals. English is way simpler when compared to french. But Im sure every language has his quirks

The meaning of this meme flips if you assume that's the players' characters instead of the players

[–] The_Vampire@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah, as a DM if these were player characters I would be ecstatic. I always have trouble pulling creative ideas out of my players, even if those creative ideas are borrowed.

[–] deft@ttrpg.network 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

tbh best groups i played with were through roll20

playing with your friends, coworkers, etc is worse. people often only join cause 2-3 of us wanna play but they're halfway in mentally and not actually motivated to play.

on roll20 everyone is here to play

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 year ago

Yup. I will take a player rather than a friend to play. A player will become a friend. A friend might not end up as a ayer

These normies wouldn't stand a chance with me

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Second kid looks like he's a creative thinker that knows what he wants and how to achieve it. Seems like an asset for a D&D group if he's not also an asshole 🤷

[–] sirblastalot@ttrpg.network 1 points 1 year ago

Honestly the bottom right is probably pretty fun to game with, and I think I am the bottom left.
