Immigration enforcement agents carried out raids in Los Angeles Friday, prompting gatherings of protesters who at one point clashed with authorities.

At one scene in downtown Los Angeles, a crowd of people tried to prevent authorities from leaving in vans after multiple people were detained.

Protesters could be seen throwing objects at the vehicles, while others tried to block the vans from leaving. One person was nearly run over when they fell to the ground after getting in front of one of the vehicles.

Hi, mod here. Rule 10 of this community prohibits posting the entire (or most of) the original article. There are a few reasons for this, but for one, it protects the community from potential copyright infringement issues.

We are not removing or locking the post at this time, but please edit the post to include the most important few paragraphs from the article. That will help to avoid removal in the future.

Thank you! Your edit will contribute to keeping this community safe, fair, and useful for everyone.

This shit again? Didn't the LAPD learn this lesson the hard way in 1992?

How much do you want to bet that "crowds clash with federal agents" is copaganda for "ICE agents attack nonviolent protesters" and that "could be seen throwing objects at the vehicles" entails no violence towards humans, unlike that of the cops?

All the clips I've seen of these guys looks like ice has been warehousing police too stupid to be on police forces. Their mall ninja gear. Their complete lack of any strategy except just parking their car in the middle of the street and hoping to nab their suspects. How quickly they fold to the slightest group of citizens.

Is this where police stations have been sending their undesirables? Now all of a sudden they have to do things when they been largely sitting on their ass in some strip plaza office. And they are fucking clueless.

Since theres literally a limit on how high your iq can be to join the force, i'd say they fit in perfectly with the police..

Sure but the police are generally expected to know how to read and write.

The bar can currently be surrounded by magma, the fact that the police have it above ground at all is impressive.

ICE will eventually roll into the wrong neighborhood.

[–] DataDisrupter@feddit.nl 10 points 10 hours ago

All neighborhoods they roll into should be the wrong ones for them.

[–] Keilik@lemmy.world 31 points 15 hours ago

There hasn’t been an incident like that yet because they are too scared to do anything but go after the least likely to fight back, fucking cowards. They don’t even pretend to be focusing on criminals anymore

[–] LonstedBrowryBased@lemm.ee 10 points 15 hours ago

They’re way too pussy to go into any of those neighborhoods

[–] Fingolfinz@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

I hope they get to the “find out” part soon for being bottom feeding scum

With all these raids, is ICE doing anything at all that resembles prosecution of the sweatshop owners who hired these so-called "criminals"? (Who we know are just folks making clothes for a living)

I think I know the answer. After all it's just a rigged numbers game, that's also why they're deporting legal immigrants and citizens and people who show up to court for their green cards. In fact they probably hope the owners find new employees for them to cart away next month. It's much easier than finding any cartel members.
