Any plans to make it easier to interact with links to other instances?

The QoL value to automatically open links to other instances inside my current instance would be enormous.

Agreed. There is no benefit to the current system, the current behavior for interacting with links on remote instances.

It only leads to confusion and/or a bad user experience.

In lemmy-ui, the auto-linking should now already link to your instance's representation of the federated content. This was merged a few weeks ago.

It doesn't seem to work, at least on my instance (lemm.ee)... I just tested it through this post which links to this thread, but it navigated me to lemmy.nl from lemm.ee

I'm on lemm.ee too and it seems to work through Sync but not the web ui for some reason
