Original Title: Keanu Reeves Filmed His 'Secret Level' Episode With a Broken Kneecap: "He shot for 13 hours straight with a brace, and he doesn't leave set. He just nips out, has a cigarette, comes back in, and says, “Let's go again”... Amazing human being"

There's something so weirdly therapeutic about The Office (US) that I watch it almost every night before bed. It's an oddly calming show. But now I can practically recite the lines from most episodes by memory. What other shows do you find funny, calming and easy to watch before sleep?

I was just watching 30 Rock again and still am astounded at what good screen chemistry Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin have, especially because neither of these actors nor these characters were ever romantically involved with each other at any time. I was curious what other people's favorite platonic screen pairings are where the actors just completely feed off each other? Honorable mention to Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston in Friends.

It's been a few months since I've finished the show and from time to time I still think about how well done it was. Reading the synopsis of the show before starting it I was a bit skeptical about it possibly keeping me engaged throughout since I wasn't a big fan of Mad Men or Deadwood (blasphemy, I know), but this show really was amazing at developing characters, relationships, etc.

I almost immediately knew the writing was fantastic coming from finishing season 2 of From where I was furious with writing choices that included forced drama and my personal pet peeve in shows where characters withhold information from each other and that causes plot points, etc. To me, in a world like From, that just doesn't make sense.

Then there was a point in Season 1 in HaCF where one of the characters can easily succumb to a very common and cliche trope in media where the neglected housewife cheats on her overworked husband with the person at work who is giving her a bit of attention yadda yadda. But they surprised the absolute shit out of me and it did not happen. I was shocked, I've never seen that before. Characters are communicating with each other? We want our marriage to work?

From there on out, the writers did a fantastic job of crafting like 6 different character arcs that I cared about. Protagonists turning to antagonists and vice versa, they somehow made me care about every single character in that show and what happened and what was happening with them and how their relationships were being affected, etc. All of the cast acted their asses off, the writing was awesome, the side characters were great, there was good comic relief, and then I finally cried during a show/movie. I never cry during anything, and this show finally made me do it.

I think we're blessed it wasn't cancelled, because I heard it was close...

Anyways, I'm done glazing, thanks for hearing me out. This is probably gonna be deleted, I felt I had to type out my feelings lmao

I have an opinion that you can't judge a comedy until a few seasons in. If you stopped watching It's Always Sunny, The Office, The Simpsons, or Curb Your Enthusiasm based on the first two seasons, you'd be missing out some brilliant comedies. That said, which comedies would you say the showrunners/actors had the characters and their quirks fully realized right out the gate? The only one that comes to mind is Arrested Development but I'm wondering if others exist.
