Today's game is Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. This has been one of the games i have been wanting to play on my new rig, along with Assassin's Creed Rogue and a third playthrough of Alan Wake 2. My rig can handle this game at 4K Ultra with 30 FPS stable. It looks really good.

The whole section i played through is covered in these Alleyways that are pretty. The game's baked lighting is really pretty, especially with how soft i feel like it is.

There was also these signs i had to climb. They're really pretty, i felt like a moth wanting to hang out around them.

Similarly, the first few chapters revolve around this gorgeous purple sign. The whole thing cast the area in a really pretty purple glow.

The game then took me up into this room with pretty windows full of rain. The sound quality on it was really satisfying. I liked hearing it hit the window.

Finally, i remember someone saying they used to collect pictures of rats in video games when we were discussing my water rating system. So i'd like to donate the above picture to a communal rat picture pile.

Oh thank god, there had to keep the bloodborne remastered rumors going before january ends.

I played it in the "open beta" two years ago. Sad that it's come to this, the game had a lot going for it but.. having all characters locked on start then weirdly shutting the game down for an extended time then coming back with everything somehow worse... everyone saw this coming.

At least it will stil be playable.

EA Epic Steam
Bundle Link Link Link
The Sims Link Link Link
The Sims 2 Link Link Link

Additional notes:

  • Both games have all the DLC (bar the IKEA collection for TS2 from I believe).
  • ~~Both games have the Denuvo DRM for some reason so keep that in mind if you're worried about it.~~
Seems to be a false alarm, EA removed any mention of Denuvo from the store pages.
  • The Sims 1 will still run at its original resolution, but will now scale pixels to make better use of larger monitors while preserving the look and layout of the game.
  • Old save files and mods are compatible with this version of the game (TS for sure according to the help page, I'm not certain about TS2).

This game is so fucking good! It's a simple formula but so effective and addictive.

Anyways, I finished the game with every character. I found all of them fun except Ayumi, I'm just not a fan of her traps. Even Yamada is manageable once you get used to his playstyle.

The strongest one is definitely Raizo. He requires some skill from you yet it's really worth it! My current best time was gotten with him:

I guess now I need to consider getting a cherry.....

Today's game is Halo Reach. Me and a friend were going to play Halo 2 but for some reason MCC on steam only downloaded Reach, so we played that instead. We found a pair of forklifts and while the NPCs handled the fighting we drove them around and crashed into eachother. You can see the battle above taking place. finally after a while we progressed through the mission.

The whole game gives me kind of skyrim vibes, and also Half Life 2. I think it's the car and the highway like infrastructure remind me of HL2 and the environment reminding me of Skyrim. There's a lot of snow everywhere and there were even some glaciers we drove past.

The game also gave me a great chance to test out my new gaming rig. I am proud to say it handled it at 4k, at max settings at a stable 60 fps. I was going to push for 120 but for some reason i guess my monitor can't do that despite me being 100% sure it could. I even had it hooked up via DP.

The game is really pretty. I really liked this mountain region. It reminded me of Far Cry 4, with all those high up peaks and things you could climb. That game was also really pretty when i played through it.

Overall i really like reach. The powerup system has been fun to play with and it looks really pretty. After Halo 2 i might go back and finish it.

The only good nazi is a dead nazi. What games are the best for taking them out?

India Jones and the Great Circle was a good start, and I'm considering Sniper Elite VR for the highly detailed nazi carnage. Wondering what other nazi-killing favorites are out there.

I find it my solemn duty to inform you all about a little blog on the internet, that being paeantosmac.wordpress.com

I personally read through it at least once a year, and it's an interesting read on an older game, I recommend trying it out!

The launch has been well-received, despite some server issues due to high demand.

Today's game is No Man's Sky. It recently got a new update with some really cool features. One of these is oceans that are cool as hell and super fucking deep. Me and My friend spent all evening searching for one of these. The main screenshot is the result of this. I found this weird tentacle thing. It apparently lives on a diet of fresh stalks of plants and they are very friendly. I wanted to tame one but i didn't have enough Nanites for another pet slot and couldn't bear to part with my beloved Orbo The Rotund (a big glorious sphere i found).

One of the best planets I found in my search was this one. The surface was kind of plain, but up in the air it was gorgeous. It had a sort of nebula thing going on at night that I would kill for.

Neighboring it was this awesome noxious planet with tons of dangerous plants and these cool but weird palm fan plants that would thrust up and down.

finally, after all my searching though. And in one last ditch effort after my friend got off for the night, i hopped over three galaxies (which also took me 200 LY closer to the center of the galaxy) and found this planet. It's covered head to toe in violent ice storms and lightning. And the waves were really violent. There was even a few times i wondered if it would swallow up my ship.

It was really pretty to see though, because one part of this new update, is that ships interact with waves (which are also a new feature). So I got to see this awesome effect of my Ship dragging waves behind it. I couldn’t really capture it in a photo, but I was able to capture a photo of the waves up above to give an idea of what they looked like. I think I want build a Base here because it is pretty.
