Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg not only is a media giant but also a sporting fanatic. While everyone is aware of his love for combat sports, only a few know about his interest in surfing. Like Meta has a knack for launching a new update every once in a while, its maker has a fondness for surfing treacherous waves intermittently. Interestingly, paddling into the ocean helps Zuckerberg stay focused.

Jesus. What a ham-handed PR piece. He has billions, but hires Temu PR for his humanization campaign. What a complete jackass.

[–] Vorticity@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

They do appear to call him "The Eye of Sauron" so, maybe the person writing this wasn't really interested in making him look good and phoned it in.

[–] tektite@slrpnk.net 2 points 7 hours ago

They also call him Zukerberg at least twice.

[–] vxx@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

He really went hard on the sunblocker because everyone knows that lizards love the sun.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

He thought it would make an insellable picture. He was wrong. He's gone the Madonna route, and wears the same clothes when he's not wanting to be photographed.

[–] MojoMcJojo@lemmy.world 8 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

"In 2022, the Eye of Sauron opened up about the reasons he surfs every morning."

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

If he's the Eye, who's the Mouth? Musk?

[–] MojoMcJojo@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Instead of Gandalf the grey there's Bernie the Blue

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 65 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (8 children)

He tries so hard to be cool.

Why do billionaires NEED to be liked so badly? Is it because they don't trust that anyone in their life likes them for who they are, instead of their money? Maybe, it's because their own kids and wives hate them?

[–] andybytes@programming.dev 1 points 7 hours ago

Reflexive markets need faith....not good ideas or people.

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 5 points 20 hours ago

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We can't imagine what it's like to be that obscenely wealthy. Logic would state that it works the other way too. They have very little concept of humanity in general. You and I would be the same if no one in the world could tell us "no". It's a form of psychosis, in my humble opinion.

Money can't fix self esteem.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can get you saint hood if you housed millions.

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

You can at least go to the medium place.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 day ago

if only there was some way to get rid of the money

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip -3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

He probably is just Autistic

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

Nah this isn't autism. Autism has issues understanding human social rules.

He understands just fine given his manipulations, he just doesn't care and actively works to smash them. That's sociopathy

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip -2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

No, I'm almost certain it is Autism. You don't need to like Facebook or Zuck as a person. (Please don't) But it is inappropriate to poke at his real struggles. I think he is the classic example of money can't buy happiness. (Or empathy)

[–] 9bananas@feddit.org 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

a lack of empathy is literally the defining trait of sociopathy.

autistic people DO have empathy for fucks sake. they (we) just have trouble with unclear social cues, but understand and have emotions just fine.

zuck, musk, and the rest are sociopaths; not autistic. (they probably could be both, but the autism is definitely not the issue here...)

zuck, musk, and so on use autism as an excuse and shield against criticism, because, in their minds, it absolves them having to change their behavior. "that's just how they are" - fuck no, that's not how autistic people act or behave at all!

it's INSANELY damaging to actual autistic people to go around saying people clearly displaying traits of sociopaths are autistic.

FUCK OFF with that shit.

[–] Juliee@lemm.ee 0 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

They are clearly spergs AND billionaires. It looks like such a combination is especially not photogenic

What is funny here, in this post, is their autistic traits and media clumsiness that is so characteristic for rich neurodivergents (as non rich people generally are not in any media obviously)

Hence the post focuses on the spectrum traits and it will be discussed from such angle naturally if we see them

If they were some poor autistic sob from Andalusia then we just would have to rein in our remarks but for billionaires it’s a free game to harass them for any reason. That’s what we agreed upon

Therefore we harass them for autistic displays in media as it is very easy but we must pretend that this is not autism to stay coherent in our moral righteousness and not evoke cognitive dissonance

I expected to hear an older British man say: "And here, we can see the pale water lizard riding the waves, in hopes of finding friends. So far, the efforts have been in vain."

[–] Soku@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Rare photo indeed. He’s usually better at staying secluded after molting

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 15 points 1 day ago

This is ridiculous. Lizard people don’t molt.

[–] red_pigeon@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago

Honestly, there is nothing to learn in this

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Zuckerberg surfs every morning right before he indulges in his complicated work algorithms, reports the New York Post. Now obviously being an IT giant comes with a casket full of responsibilities

Dressing up as a thicc Geosha Surfer every morning helps Zuck deal with his daily casket of problems.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 1 points 8 hours ago

he puts on a new human synthetic mask on his android chassis everyday you mean

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (5 children)

complicated work algorithms

Pour more billions into VR!!!! ONE OF THESE DAYS IT HAS TO PAY OFF1!1!!

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 22 hours ago

Whatever dude. They're complicated. You couldn't understand.

Zinc really is excellent sunblock. Makes you look like a doofus and it gets absolutely everywhere, but you aren't sunburnt.

[–] termaxima@programming.dev 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We have micronised Zinc now, which blocks the sun exactly as well, but doesn’t make you look like V for Vendetta !

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But it wears off. I can say that after a day of sailing with normal sunblock versus a day sailing with diaper cream you will notice a difference.

[–] KeenFlame@feddit.nu 3 points 1 day ago

I will notice many, many differences after a day of sailing regardless

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 1 day ago

Isn't this the famous Patterson footage of Bigfoot?
