God it feels so good looking at this news with a newly bought AMD GPU thinking "I don't have to worry about NVIDIA's bullshit anymore." 🥳
I have two PCs one with a 3080 TI one with a 7900 XTX, both running Bazzite. The difference is huge.
I felt this too. I made a new PC from a 3080 to a 7900 XT and I went from 30 FPS in Monster Hunter WIlds to 110 FPS (using linux). Even though I improved the CPU from 3800x to 9800 X3D, I feel like the 20 GB VRAM is the biggest factor. I hope Intel can catch up with GPUs because AMD is the only reasonable option rn.
I just made the switch from a 3080 ti to a 7900 xtx and definitely agree, the difference is huge, but I wonder how much of that is the 2 generation upgrade leap or AMD vs Nvidia.
Great.
I thought NVK was going to support only Turing and onwards, since it relied on GSP firmware.
